Lake Hope — Attraction in Brown Township

One word: Pretty. I can't stress how many times I've looked for a word to describe Lake Hope and how frequently I've come as if by default to the word 'pretty'.

Relatively untouched and unfrequented, the lake is pristine and peaceful. The waters have that crystal glimmer that nature should have. Access roads are good. A great mountain Lodge/Resort and camping grounds around. From these abound numerous hiking trails.

The nearest big city with an international airport would be Columbus, OH. Though the nearest major town would be Athens, OH, and Parkersburg, WV.

What a great place for family gatherings! The cabins are a good value. Nothing too special but nice. The lake is quiet. Staff is great. Boat rental guy is fabulous and gave us a great deal on a boat. We will be going back several times. The nature center is amazing and they have an outdoor movie theater. Watch for the billions of humming birds flying around. 40 mins to Hocking hills, visit Moonville tunnel and the old school house and furnace if you like history. We did!...
