So, if you know me, I’m a HUGE Fan of Public Open Spaces! Feel they are the Heart of every small town and city for Families to gather; friends to meet and play sports; and for anyone to just plain old exercise when you need to burn energy! On that note, I’m also a BIG Nerd about keeping our public parks clean so I encourage Everyone to pick up any trash that you see along the way regardless of how it got there! In short, don’t pass the trash; be Kind, and keep every park clean! So now to Sue Haswell Park—pay attention other Cities as Bryan, TX is doing Parks right! This probably has to be one of the BEST Examples of what a Park should be—first, very clean for the most part; offers a variety from walking/ running paths to baseball fields to a basketball court to built in horseshoe areas to even a tennis court and open spaces to rollerblade! If you prefer to chill and take it easy, then there’s a fountain area to people watch or enjoy the water; a small creek runs through the park making it very aesthetic; there are various gazebos and covered spaces for picnicking and staying out the sun; the grass is well maintained for lying down or sitting under a tree to read a book; there’s a kid’s playground right in the center; and there’s even built in barbecue pits for public use!! Again, Pay Attention Big Cities—you can truly learn a lot about building Beautiful Parks from the City of Bryan! Great Job building an Awesome Outdoor Space with Great Parking that is even Wheelchair Accessible! I’m Sold ALL around!

We had a baby showered there on Sunday. And the kitchen area someone had gotten in and deployed the fire extinguisher leaving residue everywhere the kitchen was not usable. The Bryan parks and rec still have not called us back when I did speak to the manager she said we did it which is not true. There was also hot chocolate spilled all over the tables this cost us $175 and they still have not yet talked to me about a reimbursement on the kitchen.

Nice quiet park that I like to walk to/at for exercise. You can play basketball, baseball, or tennis outdoors. You can also have a picnic and play horseshoes while letting kids play on a playground just for them. The ground at the kids area is composed of a soft material, so when your kid falls down, they won't get a face full of mulch.

This park used to be beautiful when I was a kid. Now as an adult when I come back for a picnic with my husband it's run down and quite dirty with overflowing trashcans and trash bags all over the place. Not to mention paint and beverage stains all over the tables and the gazebo that used to be so pretty with koi and turtles is completely neglected. The water is a pea soup color and the waterlevel was nearly empty along with wasp nests and some kind of mold or something on the inner roof of the gazebo. Now I will say the playground looked pristine and in perfect condition. But there's a plaque by the gazebo dedicating it to 9/11 and im ashamed for it. Something dedicated to such a horrible national tragedy has been left in such a poor state and it honestly makes me quite sad. Please do better...

This was a really nice park, everything was green, there were family's playing basketball, picnicking and just walking around. My girlfriend skated up and down the sidewalks and in the parking lot, people were friendly and overall looked to be having a good time outdoors. Theres lots of room to run around and even have family barbeque events. There were several pavilions with tables that were clean and ready to use as well. The park had bathrooms as well in case you gotta go, cause when you gotta go you gotta go. Will be going again...
