I attended a Nature Book Club at this center and had a great experience. The club had food, art and writing included. It seemed that everyone was excited to be there and do all the activities. My kids attended the "make anythiny" workshop and they were a bit overwhelmed by "anything". A few available prompts would help improve the make anything day for anyone who needs a nudge. This center is in a beautiful forest preserve location in an old house. Parking is free and plentiful. Check out the other events!

Honestly this place is greatly overlooked, the entire Edward L Ryerson Conservation Area is wonderful. The trails are great, they have sheep and chickens at the farm, rehab fowl, a great welcome center and the Brushwood Center! For a relatively small area it is pack with a variety of things. Go, you, and the kids, will love it!

This place is one of the best preserve around here, I have visited the place in winter and I was very happy with it, beside being historical,it has very nice nature along desplains river. I have seen some signs of No Dog, but not sure if it is foe entire preserve.

Brushwood is a true asset to the Lake County Community. Their environmental conservation programs help maintain our many green spaces in the area, while events for families and veterans give back to our community. But my favorite have to be their Mothers Day and Christmas art fairs, since they bring together tons of talent for a...
