We reserved & utilized two adjacent sites the Easter holiday weekend of 2022 & appreciated our stay, including location, amenities and accommodation. Reservations were difficult with the city recently assuming responsibility for this campground, to include incremental renovations, improvements and adjustments to accommodations. Our initial day coincided with the season opening day of 4/15. Recent storm debris still required some addressing including other minior maintenance, but overall our sites and the amenities were accommodating, including a couple of centralized camp restroom/shower facilities, that maintenance staff addressed while we were there. We're mostly independent of camp host, so the absence of on-site personnel wasn't an issue for us, especially with invitations and access to limited complimentary firewood. One important aspect to our stay included the patrolling of the loop by city law enforcement (Dustin), which proved to be professional, courteous, and acted above and beyond to accommodate us when keys were locked inside of a towed vehicle. The city is still developing the department that will manage this campsite, so patience is necessary, yet when questions arose a very friendly and considerate, management level, member of the city (Tina) personally drove to our site to greet us and answer questions to make clear that our stay was important to them, despite any transitional imperfections that may be evident. This contributed greatly to our sense of safety and being more comfortable with our surroundings. We were well informed of local places of interest including extended accommodations. The location is situated nicely adjacent to a very nice boat ramp and a clear running creek. It is also adjacent to a neighborhood at the outer edge of town. The children's central playground is modern and maintained. Many sites are equipped with nice concrete picnic tables that are covered with a large pavilion adjacent to the pad and hook-ups, including a nice grill fire-pit with a small accommodating concrete preparation table. Despite the lack of sewer hook-ups, 50amp & water are available, with an adjacent fully accommodating dump station conveniently located beside the entrance along with a trash dumpster station. This location is beside the lake, about a mile from the Dam, area Visitor Center and close to other points of interest, such as boat marinas, stores, etc. We appreciated the lack of crowding and the typical applicable noises and other occasional intrusions. The small-town friendliness and eagerness to accommodate our stay is reason enough for us to seriously consider utilizing this campground again for a longer stay, and hopefully include things like jet-skis, kayaks, canoes, paddle-boards, inner tubes or especially a boat or our motorcycles. Thank you, City of Bull Shoals. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ 😁👌

WARNING ⚠️ $44+ A NIGHT FOR A TENT 😭 We spent most weekends here last ☀️ Summer & couldn't wait to return, this year was our one and done unfortunately, last year $25 a night for a tent so when we were told $89.90 for two nights in a tent needless.to say we were shocked 😲 so disappointing because this was our home away from home.. We didn't have an RV or air conditioner JUST A TENT at $44 and some change a night.. Made attempts to contact the city.and thru have no response which isn't surprising because they also.never replied when we wanted to book a site, no call and no email response.. We are quiet we sleep early so this was a perfect place for us, it's quiet and clean but $44+ for a tent is the most expensive I've ever heard for a tent.. The couple now taking care of the place and very nice and even brought us wood, absolutely no complaints on anything but the extreme price change and the city failing to contact back..

This is by far the BEST "Dam" PLACE EVER!!! I have traveled through many states. The hosts are very nice, courteous and attentive to everyone. If this place ever gets a bad review, it is because they were probably asked to leave for being loud, rude, obnoxious and/or dirty! There are quiet hours here and I am happy they are enforced along with all of the above as it makes for a way nicer environment for what your here to do, which is have a peaceful and scenic time. There's a playground so you can watch your kids wear themselves out. Yep, there is dirt here, it is camping after all! But you can also take a shower, which is just another bonus of this great new discovery. There are also amazing views, electric hook-ups, WIFI and a dock! Did I mention peace and quiet?

If you want to party, be loud or annoying, save it for home or go to Florida Kiddos!

This place is for the real Happy Campers!

*The hosts may be a new thing which is why the "element" is upset. But by far, a welcome addition : ) thank you...
