This is a historical dance hall; very large but no air conditioning. Attempted to enjoy the annual Anhalt Roundup but (1) the dance floor was too crowded, (2) all of the tables were taken by people who must have arrived at the crack of dawn although the band did not begin playing until 2:00 pm, (3) it was too warm inside for dancing, and (4) they charged $40 per person ($80 per couple) which is extremely high priced in our opinion. Outstanding dance floor. Nope, it’s not heated or air conditioned, but it was built in 1875, and is well ventilated with great airflow. A traditional old dance hall - not a nightclub! It’s one of the oldest dancehalls in TX. It’s an open air, barn style dancehall with some amazing architecture. I even did a YouTube video on the history of Anhalt because it intrigues me.
