Lakeview By Sue Barn Venue — Attraction in Butler

We initially met both of the Susan's in March 2021 when my daughter and now son in law chose this amazing venue for their May 2022 wedding. We were so impressed with Susan when we signed the contract and she made it clear they are very involved with all aspects of planning the wedding of our daughter's dreams. We chose the Deluxe weekend package which was includes having the venue and cabins from Friday to Sunday. Also included the ladies setting up and decorating for rehearsal and wedding, providing violinist and piano music and clean up. They met with us a couple of times in person at their Vintage by Sue business to select the decorations my daughter wanted and communicated closely with her as the date got closer to make sure every detail would be taken care of. Not only were they there for set up they stayed on site to make sure every detail was perfect throughout the wedding and into reception. This is more than a "job" to these ladies this is a true labor of love. The barn is Amish built and beautiful and large enough to hold up to 400. There are 2 dressing rooms with showers and bathrooms. A perfect area to get ready. A/V equipment perfect for slide shows and DJ. Large convenient kitchen for caterers and bar area. All of this overlooking the beautiful lake. With the weekend package you have places for guests to stay in the cabins onsite and there are a couple guest cottages for rent in Appleton City just a couple miles away. We were very blessed to have our daughter's beautiful wedding at this wonderful venue and blessed to have the Susan's to make sure everything was perfect. What a lovely Venue. It's an out of the way, cozy, but grand option for any wedding. My granddaughter was married here just 2 days ago and it was a beautiful wedding. It was a little pricey, but for what came with the package, it seemed fair and worth it.

I was thoroughly impressed by the decor. The beautiful wood throughout the "Barn" makes it pleasant to view.

The accessibility for handicapped was somewhat suitable. There were no rails in the bathroom stalls, and they were narrow for someone with a wheelchair but still doable. This is the only reason I gave it 4/5. I would love to, but I don't want to lead anyone astray. The dressing rooms were upstairs, so it is off limits for handicapped, but perfect for those who are not. It has a gravel parking lot, and the road that leads to it is gravel as well. But that's part of its country Charm.

I would highly recommend this venue to whomever needs adequate room & a beautiful space for any function.

My husband and I stayed at Lakeview By Sue Barn Venue during Thanksgiving holiday while visiting family in nearby Urich, Mo. We were blown away by how helpful Sue was throughout the entire process. I had specific needs that she met without missing a beat. Because we needed a bigger space than was available for the entire stay, she put us in a smaller cabin for the first night and we moved to the larger one the next day. We had neglected to pick up an item to bring with us and Sue went and obtained one for us. ON THANKSGIVING DAY! She was onsite cleaning cabins on Thanksgiving Day herself, I assume so her staff could have family time. I just found it delightful that the owner is that dedicated to making everything perfect for her guests. My husband even commented on how clean everything was and how much attention to detail was apparent everywhere. The view of the lake and surrounding property is awsome. We didn't get a chance to try the Rustic Duck Restaurant onsite but did go inside for a minute and walked thru the attached store. Lots of quaint items for sale there.
