Allamuchy State Park — Attraction in Byram Township

Stayed here for the weekend for a boy scout camping trip. There are platforms to set up your tent. There is an outhouse with sinks. Outside the outhouse is a spout for drinking/cooking water. Since our campsite was further from the registration office, we were able to park our cars near our camp site as long as they are not on the road. Firewood is available at the registration area and can be hauled back with your car to your campsite. We took a small hike through one of the trails where there is a pair of logs that is used to cross over water. You don't have to use it but it was fun to walk across it. Our scouts did archery. They have a moving archery target but due to the large number of scouts, it would take too much time to get the moving target reset after each small group of scouts. A few of our older scouts also had an opportunity for a round (5 shots) of shotgun which they all enjoyed. The range area also has rifle. Adults can participate if space...
