Great place to take a quick hike of half an hour or more. Or use it as a starting point to hike a little more than a mile to all the trails that leave from the Rockafellow Ecology Park.
We hiked up the Wagon Trail, which has a gentle slope, till we were just shy of the Water Gap trail and on our way back to the parking lot took the Schepp Ridge trail till it ran back into the Wagon Trail near the parking lot. The Schepp Ridge Trail was easy to walk starting from the south end and gave good views at it followed a ridge for a 1/2 mile.
From this trail you can make a quick run up to the top of Sand Hill which gives a good view of the whole area.

Read moreDidn't go far because it was so hot, just wanted to check it out to see what it was. There's several bike trails, walking& hiking trails, an off road trail for quads, etc. From what I could see the trails go pretty far- I think they end at Tunnel Drive. There are alot of cool rocks, some fossils and some quartz even by the parking area and the low mountains right there, I'm sure they only get better the further you go. It doesn't seem as populated or visited, so anyone looking for a nice walk or ride away from people that's nice and quiet this would be perfect, but if you don't like going into natural spaces with noone around you probably wouldn't...
Read moreDidn't get to far thx to not being prepared. The start of the trail is rough terrain and couldn't get past it to see what it might have. Hope to come back though and try again. Little disappointed with the trail head. Like I said it was very rough terrain and poorly maintained. Hopefully we can find the nice trails everyone talks about in the reviews...
