Historic Poole Forge Covered Bridge — Attraction in Caernarvon Township

Here we have a wonderful example of a historic covered span in an absolutely idyllic location. Built in 1859, this King post Burr Truss bridge straddles the Conestoga River on the grounds of the equally historic Poole Forge site. She has interior gates to close her off to traffic at dusk, and many a name or lovers' mark carved into her trusswork. I'm not sure why there were two ladders hanging from her roof. I just love coming here,its serene, beautiful, and yes romantic. Not a huge place but it's larger then you might think. Quiet and peaceful, you're surrounded by breathtaking scenes. If you know your way around the area, you shouldn't have too much of a problem finding it. I'd recommend and suggest coming here to family and friends. This is a small simple pleasant park with a beautiful covered bridge along a nice creek. There is a nice playground and pavilion on one end of the park and random picnic tables around some other areas. If you're on a road trip or visiting the area it would be a nice place to give the kids a break from riding in the car and a nice place if you wanted to pack a cooler and have a picnic lunch while enjoying...
