What a wonderful place. An iron forge location dating back to 1779 and covering 23 acres, Poole Forge is a page out of days long past. With several structures still remaining and revitalized, a visit here offers up a peaceful respite from the rush of everyday life. The ironmaster's residence, one worker tenant house of an original ten, a lime kiln, and the Poole Forge Covered Bridge are among the wonderful points of interest to see here. The Conestoga River pushes through the property in a lazy curve. There are benches and picnic tables to sit at and take it all in. This was well worth the drive out from NJ. Highly recommended...
Read moreThis is a beautiful park! It is a great place to take family, wedding, or senior portraits. There is so much to work with here! I did a photoshoot here and could have gone on for hours and just barely scratched the surface of all the possibilities. One major plus is the bridge, which is absolutely amazing! One word of caution with the bridge though: when I was here taking some pictures, we found that there was a bee or wasp nest and they weren't super happy we were there.
