Katy Trail - Calhoun Trailhead — Attraction in Calhoun

2018 was our second year of riding Clinton to St Charles on the Katy and it was amazing. This is the best rails to trail in the country and best supported along the way. Clinton to Sedalia 38, Sedalia to Rocheport 50, Rocheport to Jefferson City 38, Jefferson City to Herman 48, Herman to Augusta 36, Augusta to St Charles 28. We took the Amtrak from Kirkwood back to Sedalia the next day then rode to Clinton but you'll have to pay for a Shuttle from St Charles to Kirkwood, buy train tickets and pre book the bikes on the train. The Katy Trail is one of the best hidden treasures that Missouri has to offer. It also just happens to be one of the best bike trails in the country! I have visited many of the depots & trailheads and walked or ridden on small parts of the trail throughout the state. This is a nice trailhead but oddly placed on a hill about 100 yards away from the trail - the only one placed this way on the entire 237 mile Katy Trail. Still, the restrooms and shade were much welcomed. I love this trail...
