This is a easy, 2.4 mile out-and-back, well marked trail across the south Yuba river. During our visit in late March, the river was in full force and was just beautiful to be there. The trail starts right behind the trail's parking lot and the parking fee is $5 for day use. The restrooms within the parking lot were closed but the ones at visitor center across the bridge were open and clean.
The trail naviagtes across the south Yuba river and the trail is bit narrow and one should be careful as the gorge is quite deep during the first half. Along the way you would see wildflowers, a waterfall, a stream and lot of other hikers. There are few river accesses which give you opportunity to relax along the river and watch those courageous kayakers braving the cold and fast currents.
There is a reconstructed wooden bridge right across the visitor center(not for vehicles) which was used for horse bound traffic during the gold-rush. It has been tastefully reconstructed and gives you great views...
