This is my newest favorite place to visit. The Covered bridge obviously is the main attraction, and it is wonderful. It is in the process of restoration, so as of July 2018 it was closed for foot traffic across it. But the view from either side of the bridge is spectacular! There is a vintage barn, house and gas station also on the property, on weekends during the summer there are many Interactive activities there. But the best part is the Yuba River that flows under the bridge. It's a popular swimming hole in the summer and when the river isn't raging it is a peaceful place to spend the afternoon. Bring your gold pan and sift through the gravel, maybe you will find color there! If hiking is your bag, there are many trails surrounding the park. Some are easy and handi capable accessible, some are more strenuous. Spring and fall would be the best times to hike as the foothills can be very hot during the summer, very cold and rainy or snowy in the winter. Pack a lunch a d your camera...

Love this area since I was a child. Now I'm taking my family every year. The entire area is great. If you're wondering the ins and outs, advice.

My only advice is this. After the pandemic, for some reason this place exploded. Every year before the pandemic there's locals, tourists... But not that many. There's a lot of people now, and parking.... PARKING is tough. You have the State Park lot, and the smaller lot closer to the bridge. Either way, if you want a good spot along river and parking space. Get there at 9am, no later than 10am. Or you'll be waiting for someone to leave.

We have a state park pass. And today the Yuba GODS were with us. We pulled in at 10:50. ONE spot left.

Awesome views, awesome trails nearby, refreshing water, fantastic SUMMER VIBES, there are life vests and bathrooms at the visitors center right behind the beach, up the hill, two minute walk.

Just get there...

A beautiful place, I love it. 3 areas to swim. On the left side there's a parking lot it's easier to get to and more shady but not as nice. Further down on the right there's another park lot, if u drive to the far end it's a bit closer walk to the left to my favorite area, u have to hike down a little. I suggest not to bring too much, the path has a steep stepdown and rocky, just bring bare essentials and space is limited, bathroom at parking lot. There's another trail thats flat but longer, and a portapoty along the way easier to haul stuff. The water is quite clear and it's beautiful.the main bathroom is a 1 room vault toilet not so great, but better than nothing. I'd rather come on wkdays, too crowded on wknd u might not get a parking unless u get...

I have loved coming here since I was a child--I came on family trips and for birthday parties outdoors as a little girl, went with friends in high school to swim and hike, brought my now-husband back when we were just dating, and most recently visited with our newborn daughter for the first time. The park is beautiful and well-loved; there are maintained trails, tables to picnic at, wildflowers and little waterfalls at the right time of year, and of course the bridge itself. This is a wonderful place to come for a day, and I can't recommend it highly enough (though I may be biased by all of my beautiful memories there)!

The highlight of our trip! We spent a week in Nevada city and we saw this on the drive up, and wanted to explore. We saw so many families and kids out there swimming. The water was calm and safe. Now when we drove the opposite direction a good 20 minutes away we saw tons of people struggling to find parking to go to a similar spot but looking it over the waters were super rapid. Im so thankful we found this place. The parking is super limited but so worth the wait/walk. Seeing the bridge is awesome but walking down to the water made our trip.
