Security officer Melino is very rude and very unprofessional! My family camped 3 nights at the Wheatland location. Melino accused my husband of driving drunk and wreckless through the campsite. My husband had just parked our vehicle and was getting out when Melino came speeding down the hill with his lights flashing and horn blaring, while screaming out the car at my husband for him to get out of the vehicle. I walked over to see what was going on. Melino was screaming at my husband telling him to put his hands on his head and walk backwards toward him. Melino also screamed at the car telling all passengers to get out. There were no passengers in the vehicle. All the windows were down, so Melino would have seen that! As Melino was speeding down the hill, my niece was riding her scooter in the empty parking lot, and he almost ran her over!!!! My niece had to hop off her scooter into the grass so she wouldn’t get hit! My husband said Melino was shaking and putting pressure on his head while holding his hands. My husband said he had to turn around and tell Melino to calm down three times!!!! My husband said Melino’s eyes were scanning everything very crazy and he was shaking and yelling the whole time. (Maybe he needs a drug test!!) When I walked over to see what all the yelling was, it looked like Melino had his hand on his hip as if to grab a gun. All our children in the campsite were scared and shaking themselves. When I came into the office to ask for a supervisor number to call and report, they said there was no number to give, but that I could have the website. I feel this is very unprofessional. There should always be a number given to a customer. Another thing I noticed on the ticket, the fee said $20, but Melino crossed it out and wrote $65. They still made us pay $65 without an explanation as to why it was crossed out and changed!!!! Melino and another guy, maybe his partner, badge number 213, they were very rude when we came in to pay the ticket. They were talking back and getting upset that we wanted answers!!!!!
We come here all the time, and sadly this will be our last...

We visited this camp yesterday with a group of 4 families, including 4 young children (ages 1, 2, and two 3.5-year-olds). We paid the entry fee and planned to have a simple day grilling steaks and enjoying time together.
However, within 5 minutes of arriving, we realized the environment wasn't suitable for our group, especially with a 1-year-old baby in the extremely hot weather. As responsible parents, we made the decision to leave for the safety and comfort of our children.
When we returned to the entrance and politely requested a refund for our entry passes (having stayed less than 5 minutes and not used any facilities), we were flatly refused. The staff informed us that "no refunds" is the owner's policy, with no consideration for our circumstances or the fact that we had barely entered the premises.
What disappointed us most was not just the inflexible policy, but the rude and dismissive attitude of the staff when we tried to explain our situation. Customer service was unprofessional and unwelcoming.
While I understand businesses need policies, a little compassion and flexibility for families with young children who stayed only 5 minutes would go a long way. We left feeling frustrated and unwelcome.
Would not recommend, especially for families with...
Read moreThis weekend we camped at Camp Far West North Shore. We had site 17 which was about 40 yards from the water. It was slightly graded down towards the lake but the location of the campsite was nice overall. People stay up late and are loud occasionally but that’s part of camping. The bathrooms were about 50 yards up the hill. They need to install soap dispensers and there aren’t showers. Don’t let the baby frogs jump out at you while you sit on the toilet, you might drop a little extra. The water was really nice but there are so many rocks and no sandy beach areas. A few of us hurt our feet on the sharp rocks underwater and going to and from the water. Swim/water shoes are mandatory. Anytime is a good time to swim, I heard other campers swimming around 1 am. The mini store is really close by just Incase you forget something and they are...
