Carnelian West Beach — Attraction in California

We came here because it was a dog friendly beach and it wasn't that crowded at all around 5pm. After researching, I realized dogs need to be leashed the whole time. I read a review on here that said dogs can be off leash but I don't think that is the case. We did mistakenly have our dog off leash to swim in the lake so I do feel bad about that but just FYI for future visitors, dogs need to be on the leash. If your dog isn't water crazy like mine where she needs to be swimming in the water, this is the perfect place. Parking was a little iffy but we found it...

This beach/pier was the pick up point of the mimosa cruise tour we reserved for the day. There was plenty of street parking available at the time we arrived, Since we got there early, we got a table at the beach and enjoyed our takeaway breakfast right there.
