I wanted to share with you the incredible experience I had at Elmshaven, where I delved into the daily life and divine calling of Ellen White.

Exploring the details of Ellen White’s daily routine and the profound moments that shaped her as a prophet of God was truly enlightening. The insights gained during the visit provided a deeper understanding of her spiritual journey and the significance of her role.

The tour guide, with their warmth and friendliness, made the entire experience even more enjoyable. Their guidance added a personal touch, creating an atmosphere that allowed me to connect emotionally with the surroundings and the history it holds.

Overall, the visit to Elmshaven left a lasting impression, and I am grateful for the opportunity to immerse myself in such a rich and meaningful exploration. It was an emotional and deep experience that I will carry with me for...

Rather majestic initial façade, well-kept grounds, interesting and quaint home. It's free, although donations are encouraged, so I can't give it less than four stars. However, if you are not a Seventh-day Adventist, and don't have a fascination with Ellen G White, I warn you that this tour is anything but "quick." ( Per the website's claim.) Our tour guide spent about 45 minutes in the first two rooms, giving us even unsolicited minute details of the prior homeowner's experiences.

It's not the kind of place you can walk through on your own, unfortunately. When we finally let the tour guide know we were on a limited time budget, he did step up his pace some. If you are like us, I suggest you call ahead and ask for a private, short tour. Perhaps they will oblige. I'm sure they're all volunteers, and doing this out of the goodness of...

Elmshaven is a deeply meaningful and historical place, especially for members of the Seventh-day Adventist Church. As the final home of Ellen G. White, it holds great spiritual and historical significance. The house is beautifully preserved, and walking through it feels like stepping back in time. The tour guides are knowledgeable and passionate, offering insights not just about the home itself, but about Ellen White’s life and contributions to the church. Whether you’re Adventist or simply interested in religious history, Elmshaven is a place worth visiting. It’s peaceful, informative, and truly inspiring.

Lovely, well-maintained Victorian home built by Mr. Pratt, later sold fully-furnished for $5,000 to Ellen G.White, most widely translated female author. It was her home until her death in 1915. She added a writing room above the kitchen and authored several books there during the last years of her life. The original 62 acre grounds had 2,000 prune trees. Current grounds are reduced to 4 acres. Restrooms available outside the home. Stairs to home's front porch and to second floor, no elevator. Free admission, knowledgeable, friendly tour guides available, just ring the bell to request.
