One of the last beaches left that is not over run by tourists and you can still have a bonfire and enjoy the serenity the ocean brings. The sand is nice and not full of debris and things that hurt your feet, it's nice and quiet and there's not so many people you may as well be sitting on someone's keep.... It's been years since I went to this beach, and it was exactly what I needed! It's recommend it, but honestly I hope it stays just the way it is for the locals. Living in Santa Cruz there's never parking, so much traffic is best impossible not to be late, and trying to enjoy the area we live in isn't a thing because even our "hidden" spots have been put in into type guides and magazines, leaving us strangers in our own home area. I hate having to pay $10 or more just to be park for an appointment or to go grocery shopping... I'm all about sharing, but people think because we live here all year long we don't need to enjoy the pleasures of Santa Cruz during tourist season, except it's always tourist season, and we pay unreasonable rents and everything else just to live here, so truly locals go enjoy hidden beach, tourists twin lakes is great for bonfires and beach boardwalk...

There is a nice little trail along the creek under the railroad bridge that seems like a hideaway that my kids love. There are also sweet little benches on the bluff that’s a great place to enjoy the sea without getting in the sand. My daughter and I saw a whale breach from this spot, epic. The little sewage facility in the little creek stinks sometimes, but overall a little gem. Forget about parking here on a sunny weekend, there are only about 10 or so spots.
