Nestled in a tiny canyon alongside the railroad tracks, this parklet provides access via a trail to "hidden" beach (although it's a little more trafficked than the name would apply, still a reasonable spot in a settled area), a mostly locals-only spot in Aptos. The parklet has a decent playground, well-kept grass, picnic tables, and a portapotty (not often the most hygienic of spots, but it beats having to go home when nature calls). There's a small parking area at the end of Cliff/Hidden Beach Drive, or you can park on the street on Palo Alto, or if it's a busy summer day, try Sumner street and follow the path that goes underneath the railroad trestle. Read moreUnfortunately this park is suffering just like most. There's a huge shift in the concrete on the back edge that is very hard to see and constantly catches people off guard. Between the shadows it's nearly invisible. I witnessed a few rolled ankles and a couple trips. The other issue is the lack of a water fountain or a proper bathroom.
