La Finquita Winery has definitely made it into my top 5 favorite wineries in Ramona, hands down. The staff is very welcoming and friendly. Their wines were all delicious (liking every wine in a tasting enough to buy a bottle of each is usually rare, but in this case it isn't a difficult decision). The Muscat was my favorite white and Butterfly Kisses won out of the reds. There are also 2 slushie options (one red & one white) and I recommend ordering a mixture of both. Their outdoor patio and sweeping views of the Ramona highlands was very memorable. So much so, that after our group finished our wine tasting tour for the day, we asked our driver to take us back for another tasting at La Finquita. This place is family friendly, with plenty of board games and comfortable seating inside and out. They even have alcohol-free KID WINE (grape juice) TASTINGS! More wineries need to take notes from this place to make wine tasting a family affair everywhere. There are couches and a chair swing to relax in and enjoy the amazing hilltop view. So bring the entire family and enjoy the wine and views. Good vibes all around.
*Pro tip: For those hot days in the valley visit here and order a wine slushie, bring a packed lunch, relax for a while and take in the views. *FYI: This winery is located off a narrow dirt road and is a bit difficult to find through the windy roads and small signs so just use caution when arriving and keep your speed to a minimum because some cars may be coming around the...
Read moreWas so excited to go here on our anniversary but unfortunately right when we arrived the owner's very large dog came right up to us and would not leave us alone. We love dogs but are a bit afraid of big dogs and had our little dog locked in a stroller who is also very afraid of big dogs. People tried to get him to move away from us but he wouldn't. Unfortunately, we had to leave immediately and never got to experience this beautiful winery. It's obviously the owner's choice to let their big dog roam free around the winery, but I'm sure it causes them to lose business every once in awhile. We were sad it lost ours. Giving 3 stars cause I thought the winery was beautiful and looked like it would be a safe covid-free...
Read moreWe had the BEST time at La Finquita yesterday. Tori was so knowledgeable and real, and I left with a true appreciation for Ramona and wine in general. After I told her that I didn't like Chardonnay, she brought me out a taste of their "Puppy Kisses," and the look on my face said it all...true shock! It was absolutely amazing.
I loved my experience at La Finquita so much that I decided to include in on my blog (gathersandiego.com). The slushees, the swing, the vibe--it made for the perfect...
