Playground: Dated, two different play areas. My kids had a lot of fun on the playgrounds as there was a lot to do for both older and younger kids. The flooring is rubber on the newer structure and tanbark on the older (colorful) structure. On the older playground there was some shade with multiple benches. On the newer wooden structure there was a moderate amount of shade but no benches. Bathrooms: Multiple single stalls next to the colorful playground. These restrooms desperately need updating, as they were older stainless steel fixtures with no lights in them. They were clean but didn’t feel safe. The toilet was also too high for my toddler and I had to hold him up to use it. Parking: Right next to the older playground and bathrooms in a free parking lot. Location: In a quiet suburban neighborhood off a moderately busy street. Safety: Many unhoused, very little trash throughout the park, plenty of people exercising and walking their dogs around. All in all this is a very nice park with plenty of mature trees for shade, a creek running through it, exercise equipment, a running trail, etc, but it’s not in...
Read moreDepending on your reason for coming to this park you may/may not have a good experience. If your wanting to bring kids to the playground, I'd recommend elsewhere as the transients may make some uncomfortable. Having thick skin, a few times, a couple made me uncomfortable, due to mental health outbursts, and the arguing/ yelling between a couple with cursing and violent threats. Most times the transients are quiet and leave visitors alone. However, the remainder of the park, i.e. the trails, Northside playground, and the two dog areas I found impressive, with their openess, level of securness ( no openings), water fountains w/ 3 different tiers of height, and that theres plenty of tress for shade. If not for the transients, I'd give it 5 stars. I recommend using the bathroom elsewhere before coming here. Also this time of the year ( summer) you can catch literally 100s of young squirrels scattering about throughout the...
Read moreWhile the park would be a great place to take your dog. (my primary use of the park) I would not recommend it for children useless taken with a adult. The park has a newer jungle gym for kids and a track with workout stations for adults. The problem with this park is that it is always full of homeless people whom have taken the park as their own. They spend a majority of the day there, making use of most seating and the restrooms. The restrooms are their showers as well as a safe place for them to use drugs. Parking is available but try not to park next to another car as it makes the drug dealers nervous when they see a unfamiliar face. The park was renovated recently but save for the homeless community nobody else has gotten to enjoy it. The real shame is that nothing has been done to stop the problem, if there is a silver lining the police have most of them in one area and they are easy to find when exercising...
