Monte Rio Recreation & Park District — Attraction in California

This is one of my favorite beaches on the Russian River. Not only is there lots of parking, but it's free! A great mixture of shallow spots for the young ones, and deep areas for those who like to swim. They have a boat ramp for easy access with canoes or other water activities. Plus plenty of places to see while stand up paddle boarding. I suggest getting here before noon for parking or if you plan on getting a good spot on the beach. Free parking within walk to beach...boatdock..and canoe/ kayak rentals! Food within walking distance at the RIO CAFE....great food...wines all local...great beers too! Bring your dog...no problem! We only ask that you be polite and responsible as to cleaning up our areas after using them...enjoy MonteRio parks and beaches! Remember to stay at a local hotel..or cabin rental... Google us !!! Short 30 minute bike ride from downtown Guerneville. Fairly flat and a decent shoulder most of the way. The beach is really nice and gets a wonderful amount of sun during the day. Walking distance to a couple small shops but not much in the way of food except Fern’s Pizza which was closed for repairs when we went.
