I am prejudiced in favor of Plumas Pines because I work there, but I loved it before I worked there for the past several years. The staff is wonderful in the golf shop starting with Brandon Bowling who is the head golf professional and the entire staff who works in the pro shop. The golf course superintendent has a greatest crew and the course is in wonderful condition. The staff and maintenance staff care for the course and it shows. Plumas Pines is a target style course but it is absolutely beautiful and scenic from the first tee shot where the golfer stands on a hill and aims towards the Feather River ( not in view until the second hole). The course is challenging but that is golf. There is mo restaurant currently but the snack shop on the turn is open first thing in the morning until late afternoon. If you want to experience a great course that is a about 5800 yards from the white tees, I highly recommend it. Besides, as someone who sets up the course on the days I work it will be set up as fair as you will...
Read moreAwesome. Longboards (the restaurant at the golf course) has a bunch of TVs so you can watch all the games at once. They even had pre-season hockey on! The staff at the course and the restaurant were all excellent and very friendly. Food and drinks are great for lunch and dinner. Golf course is very well maintained. The course is not long, but it is a tight course! We played two times and the second time we both used our 3 woods from the tee box with better results. We used a cart, but it could be walkable, especially with a push cart. You can park a RV here overnight if you are a member of Harvest Hosts and call ahead to be approved. The lot where you park is huge and it is easy to fine a level spot. You are far enough away from other cars and neighbors that you can run your generator as much as you like....
Read moreIf you've never been, this is a course you need to play a second time. A few holes with hidden trouble that you wouldn't know unless you've played here before. Half of the fairways are tight with either tree lined trouble or hazards on the side lines. 1/4 of the holes you feel like you're out in nature, the others have houses around, albeit cabin type homes for the most part. We played this Aug 3rd and several fairways were wet. (Make of it what you want) The greens were nice and rolled true for the most part. The driving range has been upgraded and was a pleasant surprise. (You'll really like it) Attendance at the turn inside the cafe was awesome and fairly quick. The pro-shop and all of the other staff were very pleasant to interact with. I definitely need to get...
