Superb experience at Roblar Vineyards from the moment we entered and it continued through our departure. The hostess was kind, efficient and caring when seating us. Then on to the service that we chose - a wine tasting and lunch (we had made reservations) We received pleasant and informative wine descriptions from our knowledgeable sommelier with each taste and the proper improvised wine-taste choice that he knowingly paired with my meal! Our meals, the roast salmon and a Cobb salad were perfection enhanced with their high standard of farm fresh vegetables. As we finished, feeling totally content and enjoying the ambiance of soaring ceilings of the timber frame tasting room with the massive fireplace warming our souls, we were visited by Matt, the owner. We had an engaging chat, with him entailing the history of the vineyard and its ongoing development of the vines, the farm and the buildings. Finally, we walked the beautiful estate grounds past the active vegetable gardens to the edge of the vineyards enjoying mountain scenery all around. A memorable experience with perfect food, wine, and caring people! We highly...
Read moreMy wife and my adult kids + spouses and I went there on Valentine's Day. We went there as part of a wine tasting private tour of the Santa Ynez valley thru LB Transportation. As for wine tasting and private tours, this was not our "first rodeo". We enjoy wine tasting in different regions & this was our revisit to Santa Ynez. We were served by Billy - tasting room manager and part owner. We had one the best tasting experiences of our lives. Billy had a story to accompany every wine we tasted. Aside from the comical entertainment value of the experience, the wines were impressively good. We even had their hors d'oeuvres, which were amazing.
We are wine club members at different wineries, but, we were compelled to join Roblar's. We went upstairs to the wine club's private tasting room where Matthew served us. He was also great! We had such a great time that we told Cesar, our driver, to forget the rest of the wineries we had chosen to visit beause we wanted to end on such a high note.
I won't bother going into the different wines, and Billy said they have 42, I'll just sum up by saying overall – great wines and a...
Read moreMy wife and I went for a standard wine tasting yesterday and made a reservation at 4 PM with the expectation of ordering a meal as well. When we got there they notified us the kitchen was closed, however nowhere on the website when I booked it did they mention the kitchen closes at that time. When I asked if they served cheeses only, they repeated the same phrase, “Kitchen is closed.” Had I known we wouldn’t have made the reservation before the kitchen closed! To add to this, our server basically ignored us most of the time, didn’t check up on us, and was more preoccupied with the closing routine than actually serving us. We did not feel welcome and we couldn’t get out of there fast enough. It wasn’t the experience I was expecting from all the great reviews here and was a serious letdown. We were initially considering buying the Sauvignon blanc (the first wine we tried), but because of the overall service, it ended up leaving a bad taste in our mouths and we didn’t even bother to ask about buying the bottle. I don’t recommend this place, and we...
