Been stopping at this casino for years traveling to the west coast. We stopped on Wednesday, had dinner, gambled and slept in the lot in our mobile home as we always do. We let member Services know and they sent security for some information from us, no problem. Security was friendly. On our return from the coast, we stopped at the casino for dinner, gambling and sleep in the parking lot again. We informed member Services of our plan & to let security know. Security didn't come out. They were busy as it was Saturday night. At 3am we heard a pounding knock on our windows. Yelling open the door, open the door. I looked out of my window, saw two guys in black and one wearing a black beanie hat. I told him I was not going to open anything. He shouted you need to leave. At that point I got my pepper spray and opened the back door. I asked who they were and why they were banging on my window. He said his name was Santos and that we needed to leave right now. Hell no I'm not leaving. We dropped 400 hundred dollars at the casino and had dinner there, checked in with member Services about staying thd night and I was not leaving. Santos insisted we leave. Again we were not going to leave. We did what we were supposed to do to stay a night in the parking lot. We checked in. I was budging and put Santos the thug in his place. Yes, young thug who spoke to customers like he owns the place. The other guy didn't say anything but watching Santos puff his chest out while yelling at me. Told Santos we're two old grandmas passing through and I didn't like his behavior and I would be talking to his boss. They left. Few hours later 7ish, I walked back to casino and approached the floor manager. I told him what happened and he said he would have a meeting with security staff on approaching customers. The place has gone down hill. We saw a tweeker gal washing her hair and body in the bathroom, tweekers walking around the lot looking for ???? This will be my last time to go to Running Creek Casino. TweekVille, rude security and slots don't pay out. Mostly tweekers in their and women dress like cheap flusey turning tricks in the parking lot. Santos told me to uncover our windows due to " tricks in the lot". Yeah like these old lady's passing through are doing tricks now. Their tweek mentality lost two good grandmas, rich ones at that. We'll take our money elsewhere. ...
Read moreI’m a resident of Mendocino county. I’ve lived here for 14 years. Friday was my first visit to Running Creek Casino in Upper Lake, located in Lake County CA. A friend recommended this destination for a fun night of good food and entertainment. It did not disappoint. We entered with our family of four, with security briefly checking my purse at the door. My two children are 17 and 18, and were welcome in the Casino restaurant (Wild Creek Steakhouse and Seafood) when escorted by an adult. First impression was wow, this place is very clean, nice decor, and smells great! We were there for an ALL You Can Eat Crab Feast. Without a reservation, we came at 5pm, Friday night, and were glad because there was a line to get in an hour later. (They actually open at 4pm, and have a Happy hour till 6pm. I tried their house Cabernet Sauvignon and it’s quite good.) Gabby, our server, was the epitome of an excellent ambassador. Our whole family ordered the Crab Special, and after we enjoyed our clam chowder/ house salad, we were hit with plate after plate of steaming crab legs. Plump and juicy crab, served with drawn butter and lemon. We devoured everything. Gabby never missed a beat, offering more fresh crab when we were running low. We spent a moderate amount for dinner, considering the offerings, and it was well worth it. There were several other tasty offerings I would like to try next time. They are open 7 days a week, and offer specials everyday.
Of course, we had to check out the casino floor after dinner. They were offering a special on house credit to spend in the casino: spend $20, get $30. If you’re a first time member, you can get an additional $10 credit. So for $20, we received $40 in credit. We are not very experienced, but we had fun playing the machines. There was a live DJ, and he took our song request and played Tom Jones, it was a hoot.
We have spent time in Las Vegas at Caesars, the Bellagio, etc. This was like going there without the plane tickets and smoking indoors. Overall, I would return for another fun night soon! The drive from Mendocino County is quite lovely and surprisingly close. If you’re looking for a destination for fun close to home, check out Running Creek Casino...
Read moreWe had dinner at the restaurant on last Friday so it was crab night. Young hostess was super rude with attitude and then wouldn’t give us the one booth since “they were assigning by sections”. Right after we were seated she put another couple there and turned out it was the same waitress. I’ve worked in bars and restaurants and if something simple like giving a customer the table they want makes them happy, let them have it!
Waitress was nice but didn’t have a clue about services. Friend ordered a shot of Johnny Walker Blue- $30 drink and she brought it over ice. Asked her to take it back since he didn’t ask for it on the rocks. Guess they don’t have a good bartender either since no one that knows their stuff would send that out over ice unless it was requested. She brought it back chilled so obviously they had just strained the ice out and put it in another glass, super watery. She took it back but acted like she didn’t get it or care. He just ended up having water.
I had soup and side salad but she brought out soup right away instead of waiting for friend’s dinner. So was kinda awkward eating when he had no food. Once she dropped off his dinner she never came back to check on anything. I ran out of dressing and drink was empty so just sat there and waited till the end when she finally stopped back by to try and sell us dessert.
Restaurant only had a couple white claw flavors but when we went to Casino bar they have every flavor. Someone needs to manage things better. Especially overseeing customer service.
Over all supper disappointed in service and food wasn’t great. Probably won’t be back unless we can’t find...
