Point of interest here is really the town's eclectic charm. Apparently, Bombay Beach has become an artist haven. The town will probably have an apocalyptic appeal to those that seek adventure. I came here to photograph the sunset. Beware, the Salton Sea is way past is heyday. The sea is also considered one of the worst environmental disasters in recent memory. The water is extremely polluted and it gives off an awful smell. It's probably not a good idea to take a dip in it. Set aside the smell and pollution, Salton Sea is beautiful. Read moreMy 2nd visit to Bombay Beach at Salton Sea. You guys gotta see this place. The last time I visited was like, two years ago, and I'm happy to be back. It's become an art exhibit... and why not? It's certainly the perfect spot whether you're stopping by on your way to or from "Slab City." I think the artist is the guy in the photo doing maintenance on the sign that reads, "THE ONLY OTHER THING IS NOTHING."
