I kayak so I don’t like horrifically polluting two-stroke boats cross crossing making waves around the lake. The water was not clear and brown. I am not saying it was pollution but just cloudy with sediment. It had an odor to it also. See H2O doesn’t have an odor.
There were great bing birds like the Great White Egret and the Blue Heron. That is fantastic. It is right there in downtown which is great. There are MANY places one can load their kayak into the water and easily get it out.
I live the water fountain spraying up. NOW THAT was freshness in a hot day but that kind of freshness was not experienced in the three hours I was kayaking. It is great that bathrooms were plentiful. The one I Went to had a stainless steel bowl with built-in lip and no lid. It was great for ease of cleaning. Ironically they had no soap at the Sibiu and someone just left a bottle of orange colored dish soap.
If you live birds this is great. I love birds too but I can get it without breathing microbes killing two-stroke engines. I know two-stroke because I used to Rex them in motocross and the U.S.A. government has laws against the new manufacturing of it.
I have other places to kayak but I don’t want to post it and then they will be swamped. I do hiking and kayaking for free as an Indiana Master Naturalist. EVERYDAY as in 365 days a year and you can learn more at Indiana Dunes...

Read moreLake George used to be the sewage runoff for the city of Hobart. They tried cleaning the lake once, but ended up making it SO much worse. Instead of actually cleaning it properly, they've destroyed the natural areas around the lake to make it "pretty" and have now caused it to flood. Wouldn't recommend eating anything you catch here, nor do I recommend letting the water...
