we were given a timeshare week by a family member, so we were there long enough to use most of the facilities and give some good feed back. Note: friends and guests of owners do not receive owner perks, so they will charge you $500 for the pools. My two worst reviews would be that this place feels like it’s out to nickel and dime you. Hence the pool fee. Also the groceries in the store are marked up by quite a lot just because they have you there. The farmers market on Monday was funny. They were selling a small batch of strawberries for $9, and some guy was selling his local made bottles of alcohol for like $35 or $40. You can’t even go to the nightly events or weekly bbq if you don’t pay the initial fee. Didn’t feel welcoming. And then there was the gym. Utterly disgusting!! Not sure when cleaning is, but it’s not daily, and didn’t look weekly. The equipment was covered in dirt and sweat marks. The floor which my water bottle feel on looked like a piece of carpet when I picked it up. Ew. You get the point. Went to the candle and harth restaurant, it was great food with great service. But pricy. The unit was very clean, we had a three bedroom condo up on the hill, but obviously very dated. We have 4 younger kids, so we cooked often. They don’t give you but the bear minimum in cooking needs, so if you need a certain pan or knife for cooking bring it, making pancakes and eggs with one .99 spatula was difficult. There were enough plates and cups for one meal, so we ran the dish washer a lot. The closest market was in Jericho, so stop on your way in. There is no central a/c, but each room had a wall unit, so if you go in the summer like us, leave the doors open while your out and use a fan to blow the air into the main spaces. We did buy the pool pass and the kids used and enjoyed all four pools. There all a little diff. So that was fun. Life guards were attentive and not to over bearing. We had a small maintenance issue and the staff responded within minutes which I was surprised about. Very nice. No one there was seemed excited to work there but no one was rude either. Definitely a three star Long review short, if I was asked to go back… with the kids maybe, maybe.. as just a couple, no.

Just finished a four-day trip to Smuggs. This was our first time skiing in New England, and we all fell in love with this place. As a family resort, it is without peers, as far as I’m concerned. The resort facilities are nice, but low-key in the best way. Nothing is over-done, and nothing is shabby. The food at the on-hill restaurants is good, and it’s not overpriced. The activities for kids and teens at the Fun Zone and the Teen Center are nothing short of exceptional. Easily the best laser tag I’ve ever seen, plus indoor mini-golf, pool tables, ping pong, video games, and an incredible climbing wall and ninja course. Our teens were dying to go there every night! The nightly activities like Karaoke, fireworks, magicians, and carnivals are genuinely fun, as well. The prices are very reasonable throughout the resort. Our room was a one-bedroom in the base village, and it was really cool. It was not fancy, but was perfect for our needs. It had a bedroom, bathroom (with separate toilet and separate shower, making it more like 2 bathrooms), living room, kitchen, and a sleeping loft for our boys. One of the amazing and unique things about Smuggs is that you can add a bedroom for a modest price increase. Everywhere else I’ve seen DOUBLES your nightly room rate for adding another bedroom. As for the skiing, I have skied all over the West, several places in Europe, Canada, and the Southeast. Smuggs has a big-mountain feel with long trails, tons of variety, plenty of challenge, absolutely spectacular views, and lack of over-crowding. Can it compete with Alta for snow? Of course not. Can it compete with Whistler for variety and vertical? Of course not. But I don’t think any other mountain I know of can compete with Smuggs as a family skiing destination. The staff were all great, as well. The whole place— and the clientele it attracts— are good, solid, down-to-earth people that are a delight to get to know. There was plenty of snow, and as a bonus, on the last day of our late-March trip, we were rewarded with 6” of fresh, dry powder. Amazing. We loved our stay and we plan to return as soon as we can.

Absolutely enjoyed our week stay here during October. We booked through our RCI membership. We had a really nice 3 bedroom unit. Was very clean, very spacious, and I loved our screened porch. The front desk ladies that checked us in was very nice and informative of the area. We had a nice hot tub to use at our condo location and was great for evenings after hiking. They have multiple pools on the property indoor or outdoor depending on time of year. They usually have activities to do on the property, some free some not. They have a kids fun zone, however we did not visit it during our stay. I do wish some of the guided trails through the resort was more feasible. We explored on our own due to the expense. There is a lot of hiking trails around the area to visit. I will say be prepared to drive. Stowe about 30 minutes away is the best area for shopping and eating out. Burlington is about 45 minutes away with more chain style restaurants and chain stores. Groceries... Bring your dried non parish ables in my opinion. That's what we did and bought cold stuff at Shaw's in Stowe. Depending on location, for us the groceries was double our normal where we are from. And I'm pretty sure the quickest route to Stowe is closed in winter? If so it'll be an hour away like Burlington. I will add, it would be nice if they fixed the properties roads. They're very bumpy and pot holes. Anyways... This was a spectacular place to stay and we loved having a autumn vacation here. It was beautiful to see the trees in their Glory.

We stayed in a 1 bedroom with a large covered porch (2nd floor) overlooking a Grove of trees at Mountain Laurel units. The room was plenty spacious for the 2 of us. King bed, large bath, Sectional couch, full kitchen with table for 4. We loved coffee on the deck each morning and ate in several times, so the kitchen was handy. The jetted tub was nice after a few long hikes. Our only complaint is sekection of shows on tv. I'd suggest bringing some dvd or a roku/ chomocast if you have a streaming service and are spoiled by it like we are. Drive to hannaford for groceries. It's a bit of a drive but great scenery and worth it for the grocery selection and prices. (Try the pre-made salads near the deli...large & delicious. We brought 2 home to split and wished we bought more.) Finally, if you'd like a decent gym, visit the community center in Cambridge. They sell day or week passes at a reasonable rate, are very nice, and have a good selection of equipment. (Better than most hotel gyms...treadmills, bikes, dumbbells, squat rack, barbell, rower, skier...) We work out daily and were very happy to find the center. The bootleggers lounge was fun for music. We didn't really do the resort activities nor pools, so we can't speak to those. It looked like it'd be great fun for kids with families, though. We came for hiking & cooler weather. (High 90s at home vs. 70s here.)

I did not use the overnight stay, only the mountain for snowboarding. The snowboard instructor was great with my child, teaching her lots of new skills. The instructor was very kind, and empathetic, as well as personable, and able to share a laugh. He was very informative on the skills learned and what level my daughter was at, as well as giving tips and tricks, and things to continue working on.

We had a very nice room (Tamarack) Staff is friendly. Lifts are older. The gas fireplace in the room was useless, you cant even see a flame.
