Pretty disappointed- to be clear I am only reviewing getting married here. We paid for the higher package because we wanted pictures and we thought since we were getting married in a cave, with the different lighting, an in-house photographer would be worth it. My disappointment is mostly with her, as she is also in charge of putting the weddings together, from what I understand. The only thing we asked for was a male officiant and when we arrived, we had a female. It wasn’t a big enough deal to cause a fuss over, and we are already there. The flowers provided are incredibly low quality and the card attached didn’t even have my name spelled correctly (and my name is spelled correctly in the email we received). The “souvenir” (which says embossed in the email we received) album, is a plain black- 4x6 album, it’s not bad, but I would not put my wedding photos in it. It also has no markings on it at all and says nothing about the cave. The flute glasses are just left for you- I had to just carry them out- no bag, no wrapping, nothing. Not even a box. There was no sparkling cider. The photos included in the package, we just received and were also poorly packaged. The biggest take away I want to share is that- if you actually want the photos of your wedding, you have to pay the photographer $450 in addition to the cost. I understand this is her own business on the side and how she makes money. It just seems high to me for the amount of pictures she actually took of us, especially considering some are duplicates. You also only have 30 days to decide, then they are gone forever. She took down our contact information before the ceremony, because she said she had a difficult time contacting us before and we never received her contract. After our wedding, my husband was the one that reached out to her, to ask if there was any update, and she actually said she must have bad contact information for us. There were just a few different things like this with her. We had bad feelings about the process, that we were talking about, as we were driving back home a couple of days later, but we wanted to wait until we got our pictures to say anything. I don’t feel like I had high expectations, we just wanted to elope some where and it just developed into a neat thing like eloping in a cave. I was just very disappointed- every step of the way with her and how she handled things. I feel like she is just not very professional. She is a good photographer, just maybe shouldn’t be in charge of everything.
The cave seemed cool. I wish we could have seen more, look forward to going back one day. The lake was very pretty. The other members of the staff standing...
Read moreI can't say enough about the tour that Eric gave us at Bridal Cave. We're camping in the area for the first of four legs of my wife's birthday vacation trip, and have themed it with caves, minerals, and waterfalls. The tour was supposed to be about an hour, but because we are so very awesome (we were the only two people to take the 4pm tour and had chatted with our guide previous to said excursion) we kinda got the deluxe edition, and after two hours (honest accident! So many questions that Eric powered through!), we emerged enlightened about the dark and cavernous depths. Eric even whipped out the UV torch and let us examine whatever we liked for several minutes! The calcite will remain phosphorescent for several seconds after exposed, and different minerals in and on the relativly pale and plain looking calcite will show up as greens, purples, and blues under ultraviolet light. Where bats have perched, they leave neon orange traces on the face of the rocks they've clung to! Three foot long soda straws, bottle brush formations, cave bacon, wizard sleeves, curtains of Hades! (I made up a few new terms...) So many cool formations. And the coup de gras? Short nosed cave bear claw marks! Holy cow! If you're in the area, please, take a late day Wednesday tour after the busy season if possible, otherwise it's still neat, but not the same as when you run your camera dead trying to capture it all with no one else in the photos! My wife has several more photos of the cave after mine went dead at the...
Read moreFamily of four did the tour about $90. We enjoyed the cave and were excited to look at all the natural wonders it offers. It was beautiful and amazing to see! It would have been more enjoyable if our tour guide was more experienced and talked a little less rather than telling us that we needes to move quickly to the end and we could take our time with looking and photos on our way out. Then we got further in and she tells us she is trying to slow us down as she thinks there is another tour ahead of us and doesn't want to intrude on them. Then we get toward the end and she tells us that we cant take too long with photos and looking since another tour is waiting. The whole time she made horrible quips and spoke incessantly about nothing, her opinions, and her personal life and several peoe on our tour were complaining more and more as it went on. Either she is new or the manager here needs a new system for tours because this seemed really green for something so established. *Side note for management, more people said they would have bought their photos at the end if the photo had been taken in front of the "Organ" but where our photos were taken was at the very beginning and the background was ugly and looked like any...
