El Dorado Musical Theatre — Attraction in Cameron Park

I can't say enough good things about this organization and the fruit it produces!

It's easy to see how incredible the productions are (seriously professional quality for young performers!) —but what you may not see is the immense amount of thought, planning, creativity, and hard work that goes into making them happen. From tons of dedicated volunteers and generous donations to the tireless efforts of the kids and staff for months at a time, every show is a labor of love. But the proof is in the pudding - you can tell that it's all worth it when everyone wants to keep coming back and doing it again!

My daughter started a year ago with a training show, and I knew immediately we were hooked. Not just because I watched her blossom throughout that experience (and every show since), but because I discovered how much I love being part of it myself! I genuinely look forward to every production—the time spent painting sets, building props, mic-ing performers, and helping in the dressing rooms. I love being a part of this community and feel so at home here. There’s a unique magic here that’s impossible to describe until you experience it firsthand.

Well Harris Center opened Friday night after being closed since March of 2020. The theatrical of High Voltage, an auditioned show of young people in the Sacramento Valley performed. The show was phenomenal & spell binding & ran 21/2 hours. Back to Broadway songs & dances from Broadway shows from the 50’s to today!! These young actors preformed, as professionally as any show on Broadway! The place had a good crowd & all seemed mesmerized by such talent, they received a standing ovation. I'd give it 6 stars if I could! My family has been performing with EDMT for a couple years now and have been hooked since the beginning. It's such a positive and supportive environment while also teaching the kids to work hard. The performances are top notch (and I'm not just saying since my kids perform in them as well)! We truly love the shows that our kids are too young to be in as well. Highly recommend for youth that are interested in performing in musicals and also recommend for others to just come and...
