Due to the COVID 19 situation, I made a 30 day reservation, 45 days in advance and requested a site with satellite accessibility. I was told by the office that no site can be requested, but that they would try to find a good site for me. Upon my arrival and after I paid my total bill for my stay, they escorted me to a site with heavy brush and tall trees. I knew right then that the satellite antenna would not work and asked for another site. I was told basically, "This is all we have and maybe you can get the local tv channels ". After a week of self isolation and no tv, I contacted the park manager in regards to moving to a different site; I had noticed that site 27 was empty during my first week, more than it was occupied. AND sinse customers can't request certain sites, put a short term customer in my site. The manager stated, "No", to my request. This is the trend that I have found at the majority of rv parks in recent years; MONEY out weighs Customer Service. As we all know, the park can double their profits by putting daily paying customers into the nicer sites, versus the monthly paying customers. During my extended stay, site 27 had at least 3 different customers, paying the daily rate, and was vacant probably more times than occupied. Here's the bullet to their ATTITUDE; The 3 rv rigs belonging to the camp workers, manager included, were all located in my row and had heavy brush and trees, which blocked the satellite signal. The workers had installed 3 portable satellite antennas about 60 feet away from their sites and clear of the trees. So, it would seem by their actions that satellite accessibility was indeed very important them, BUT not very important for the customers. One way street apparently. We have visited this park many times over the last 17 years, and since the ownership changed a few years ago, customer service just...
Read moreAs long-time, full-time RVers, we can recommend Zane Grey RV Village as one of the nicest locations we’ve ever been, and one we come back to year after year.
For the last ten years we’ve spent the winter season at Zane Grey, and we’ve seen it go through several owners, all of whom added something new to the park. The current owner has continued that tradition with many park improvements including adding scattered public gathering places throughout the park, specialty lighting, a projector and screen for movies, games, live entertainment, food trucks and even a spacious, clean dog run for guests’ furry friends.
The community fire pit is kept burning most evenings and is a wonderful gathering place to interact with other guests if you choose. Saturday morning donuts and coffee draw guests to the Ramada, a comfortable covered outdoor structure with plenty of seating, situated near the fire pit and the enclosed game/activity building.
The level and raked RV spots are arranged with split-rail fencing and large trees. In the park-like setting, six nicely-appointed park model cabins sit with plenty of parking, available to rent on Airbnb.
The restroom facilities are clean and roomy with showers, and the ample laundry room is conveniently located in the same building.
The atmosphere is welcoming and the changes have all been aimed at enhancing your experience at Zane Grey which sits on beautiful, wooded property with hiking trails, a stream and wildlife including deer and javelina.
Visit the office to chat with the friendly staff, pick up local activity flyers, find necessities and local gifts, and a hot cup of coffee. There’s something for everyone at Zane Grey, and as the owner Johnny says, “Life is better...
Read moreJust left this rv park and had to post this, if you are a young family DO NOT STAY!!! This is like a retirement community for campers. We went there with our friends so all together it was 3 rv's. The first night we had a fire in our portable fire pit and we're told to put it out they had a community fire pit because they don't want ash on the Granite floor (which is little Rock that tracks in your rv and gets everywhere). The next day they told our friends that there dog was barking in there rv and had to stop it, this was in the afternoon and you could hardly hear it. Everyone had eyes on us, we were the youngest people there and it made us very uncomfortable. Some of the residents were friendly but the staff and owners were unfriendly and unwelcoming. We took our RZR out and since it rained it was muddy, as soon as we came back the owner and staff came up saying you can't park it by your rv we don't want the mud on the granite. There was no where to wash it off so my husband did the best trying to clean it off before we parked. They wanted us to park it far away where we could keep an eye on it my husband said if you take responsibility for something happening then sure which they did not. This was not a fun trip this was actually the worst camping trip we have been on. We felt stuck in our rv because we did not want to have eyes on us or do something wrong. We will never ever stay here again and we warn anyone who is younger then 55 to stay away!! In ending we are a young family my husband is hispanic I am white and have a little girl. My husband felt discriminated against and I could feel the eyes on us always. I feel if we did not have a nice fifth wheel they might of turned us away from...
