This is a really good trail run/hike/walk around the pond. You will come across a variety of surfaces: dirt trail, dirt road for the camp, boardwalk, paved path along the golf course. For the shortest route, park at the Ponkapoag Pond parking on Randolph Street in Canton. The trail is just down the hill. Following the Green Dot trail, you can make it around the pond in a little less than 4 miles. You'll run by the AMC cabins, the YMCA center, the golf course and of course have great views of the pond when you're on the north side and the south side of the pond. Be sure to make a side trip to the boardwalk. What a cool experience! You'll feel like you've been transported to a Louisiana bayou. Currently it's under renovation so there are places you will get wet if you want to do the whole thing. It's almost a half-mile long.

A large area with a lot of little trails. If you're looking to hike around the pond, it's confusing to know where to go. The boardwalk through the bog is in varied states of repair. It's slippery in some areas and some of the boards move, so wear proper shoes and skip it all together if you have balance issues. It's very pretty but leads to the pond's edge with no place to go except back the way you came, so be aware of that.

Love the trails through the woods and the little trails that branch off. Marked fairly well, we didn't get lost. Beautiful scenery. Not so excited about the golf course or road part of the trail, good idea to have bug spray. Nice walk around the water with some neat views

This pond has a nice beach and about a 4.5-mile walking or running loop. Most of the trail is very flat and well-marked. The trail passes by some Appalachian Mountain Club cabins. I would NOT recommend the boardwalk, seems a bit dangerous and run down. I would recommend parking in the Fishermen's Beach...
