
The polo fields have been part of my life since the late 70s. When it was just a field with a walk path around it. Aptos Creek runs by one side of the park giving my friends and I another playground for teenage boys. Now the Polo Fields is a sports park with baseball fields and enormous grass fields creating multiple soccer fields. A BMX track, a exercise par course with a variety of physical tasks you perform at stations spread out along the walk path that spans the whole park. The Cabrillo Lions Club is very active there . Most of the many benches around the park were donated and installed by this wonderful group of volunteers. It's a perfect use of the land, also a beautiful well...
Read moreI've come here for many years. Go for a walk, watch a pick up soccer game, watch a baseball game, or take your dog to the dog park. Clean, plenty of free parking and lots of open space. There are occasional coyotes near the forest as well as a creek. The creek is shallow and a good place to allow your dog to play. The path to the creek is near the fenced Soquel Creek Water station. Dogs are required to be on leash outside of the dog park and sometimes the sheriff comes down, but that is pretty rare. The park is kid friendly though there are no play structures. Read moreBig place with several different areas. Nice paths to walk around the perimeter of the park (which is a good place to walk the dog). There's also a dog park here, but it's weird - super deep tanbark that makes it difficult to walk for humans, and seems like it would be weird for the dogs to play fetch in all of that tanbark, too. Also seems like a lot of lame-o dog owners bring their dog to act however it wants, with no discipline involved. They basically come to sit on a bench and let the dog be a jerk to other dogs and who cares. Happens a lot here,...
