I’m so disappointed in THE CARLISLE RESERVATION Metro Park in LaGrange! I took a group of students with disabilities to this location today and they would not even speak to us and even tried to discourage me from bringing my group there when I called 2 days ago to get more information! I was told that we could not park close to the Visitor Center because the STAFF and public would be there. Really? The public will be there on a Wednesday morning at 10 in the rain? She attempted to block my son from going near the birds--until I started to sign to him that he needed to wait for me. Five minutes prior there were numerous families enjoying the raptors and we were told it was closed. Clearly this particular individual needs some training for future encounters with special needs...
