My fiancé and I were traveling north from Bell County, Ky and decided to take all the back roads. We stumbled upon this gem and thought we’d drive through the park and head back on our way. Little did we know we would end up spending hours at the park. We were absolutely fascinated by the Pioneer Museum— first by the structure itself, but then by everything inside. The curator, Jeff, kept us educated and entertained as he shared histories and ghost stories from the museums past. The artifacts and literature inside the museum were not only informative but interesting to read as well. We pride ourselves on knowing our great state’s history and even we learned new information at the museum. I definitely recommend taking in every bit of info at the museum before touring the rest of the park. Everything Jeff discussed with us, and the stories within the museum, all come together as you tour the park and see its landmarks.

And aside from the Pioneer Museum and the Buffalo Trace trail, there’s a lodge, a restaurant, a boat ramp and fishing site, mini golf, a pool, and shelters for families to enjoy. And on another important note, the restrooms at the park were clean and easily accessible.

So whether you’re a history buff or just want somewhere to take your family, I would highly recommend this park! We are already planning our next trip here. It was definitely a...

We stayed at the Blue Lick Battlefield State Resort Park and you couldn’t ask for a nicer and GREAT Hospitality people that work there. They made sure our rooms met our expectations. Great accommodations nice, clean and beautiful scenery from the rooms. The housekeeping checks on you to make sure if you have everything you need and if there’s anything they can do to make your stay more comfortable. The restaurant also great people wait on you to make sure you’re taking care of and the food was fabulous. There is a lot of Historical information and well presented ; with the Museum, Monuments and Historical Trails for learning and hiking. We didn’t stay at the campsite but we got a chance to tour thru the area and beautiful campsites and all the means to have an enjoyable camping experience. Plenty things to do for families ; playground, fishing, canoeing, basketball court and even a putt putt golf course. This area was kept remarkably clean and well maintained. Also there is the Gift Shop has AMAZING items to be able have keepsakes from T-shirts, caps, artifacts and history items plus books about the Blue Lick Battlefield. There’s also historical sites and a lake close by so you can go adventuring in other areas close by. We had a TREMENDOUS stay and already planning to go back. Just when your there ask about the Ghost in room 206....

2/25. Our second time staying at the park. We had a room in the lodge this time. Our room had 2 full size beds. Fresh paint. Clean room and strong water pressure, lots of hot water. Soft, nice size towels. Mini fridge and personal coffee maker with nice quality coffee. Tile floor, bring slippers. Private balconies with table and two chairs. Two suggestions for State Park-update to queen beds and softer sheets. :) 6/24 Our first stay at the park. Beautiful campground wonderful surprise! The sites are large and spacious. Bathrooms are clean. Don’t feel like cooking? Go check out the restaurant. The prices can’t be beat, and the portion size were generous and fresh. I recommend the fried green tomatoes. Lots of pages quiet roads to ride bikes, or walk interesting history unfortunately most of the signs on the hiking trails Dirty/old to read. Ask any of the people who were here they’ll tell you all you wanna know. :) Check out the museum that was a surprise as well. We had water And electric at the site. Really wish they would add waste. We will definitely be back.

This was an excellent trip to a very beautiful area. It is a shame that the state doesn’t allocate more funds to more efficiently. Maintain and update this property. The interior of the rooms were very dated but they were also very well cleaned… I just felt like I was visiting in the late 70s. The outside of the buildings was a different story. Some of the exterior panels had large holes rotted through them. The museum on the property had a small refrigerator that looked like it was out of a 1971 Winnebago being used for Keeping water bottles full. Does it really take that much to put a water fountain in a museum in a premier state park? So much potential. We will return because it is such a beautiful area.

We were RV camping. Spacious sites, and a relatively open, uncrowded feeling compared to most commercial RV parks. Things to see, but a small park with limited access to water (there is a boat ramp), surrounded by private property, and the adjoining US Rt68 is a major noise irritant. This may not apply to the resort hotel. Historical information from a small museum with a knowledgeable guide is there and worth a visit. RVers should be advised that power cords and water hoses will require extensions. Our slot was flat but larger rigs or other sites will require some leveling. Dump station on exit at the end of the single loop.
