Our group of 5 ate for roughly $75. Incredibly limited main selection with only about 9 options for food, and a limited salad bar. We found a menu online with significantly more options, so our expectations were not met. Dessert was apple pie and lemon cake, the former of which was so bland it tasted almost bitter, and the latter was just satisfactory. It should be mentioned that every member of our party found at least one dirty plate in the stack of clean plates. $15 dollars for buffet, $8 for just soup and salad. The price does not justify the food in my opinion. One of our party members has a pickier palette and found the limited selection problematic at best, but the flavor of the main entrees and salad bar aren't bad at all, but nothing standout. The service was exceptional though, quickly bussed and very friendly, even discounted us down to 2 soup and salad's and 3 buffet's because of how little our pickier party member actually ate. The atmosphere is incredibly empty and manufactured, it's plain and dry in an attempt to be rustic and homey, and uncomfortably quiet. The Hidden Waters Restaurant is a poor value buffet with questionable atmosphere and...
Read moreMy experience at Hidden Waters Restaurant was below poor it was more of an unbelievable experience. It took right at two hours from arriving at the Restaurant to recieving my food. I ordered a bacon cheeseburger and fries, which any fast food joint would be able to have ready in 10 minutes, the food I got wasn't any better than most fast food burgers. Matter of fact I have eaten much better burgers and fries at many fast good joints( this place cannot compete with In-N-Out). The fries were frozen fries and the burger was over cooked and it also had been frozen in its lifetime. To add insult to injury the food was cold when it came to the table. This is supposed to be an award winning Restaurant it wasn't staffed to serve more than six people, and the staff never offered to comp any part of the meal. Plus they acted like it was going to bankrupt the joint to refill my drink. In good faith I can not recommend this place to anyone. I don't mind waiting on excellent food, but not for...
Read moreYou don’t expect food at a national or state park lodge to be good but it is here. It’s always super clean, welcoming, a fresh salad buffet and a fresh dinner buffet. Great desserts too. It is very inexpensive for an all-you-can-eat, and both buffets are refreshed and checked by staff constantly. The food is American favorites and some Kentucky favorites. There’s usually two strong entrees and multiple strong sides. They have good looking a menu too, but we haven’t used that. For us it’s a great, low cost, fun lunch if we are in the area. It is family friendly option too. Having grown up near a bunch of national parks I’m always impressed by the Kentucky...
