Ok this was probably the funnest thing we did in PR. We did the 2 hr ATV ride. I recommend you get there at least 30 min early to complete check in. The lines are long and there are forms you need to fill out. You can fill out the forms online but when I did they couldn’t locate them. Even after filling them out a second time online they still couldn’t find them so I had to fill out paper forms for my entire group, this was frustrating. But the girl working with me was very kind and patient. I heard another couple say the same thing happened to them. Make sure you bring the same ccd you used to book with you, I heard people having issues because they didn’t. I booked through Get Your Guide so I didn’t have to have this ccd with me. Thank God because I also didn’t bring it. Be prepared with sunglasses and face masks, you will need it. If you don’t bring your own you can buy some at the shop but they were $10 so we used T-shirt’s. Once checked in you sit around until your guide calls your group. There is a restaurant you can sit at and wait or eat/drink. You cannot consume alcohol before the ride. Once your guide calls you they get you prepared for the ride with a helmet and instructions for the drivers. The ATVs were very easy to drive, my kids and husband drove. We were in a group with 3 other women. The ride is fast, muddy and exhilarating! They stop half way for 15 min so you can use the restroom or get some water. The 2nd half of the ride is extreme, we went in some deep water and we’re going at speeds up to 50-60mph at some points. We couldn’t go as fast as we would have liked due to the other party lagging behind. But it was still very fun. Or guide was awesome. When the women spun out and got stuck in the mud he was very patient good spirited even after having to get them out (he was covered in mud head to toe). Please tip your guide 😂 Once the ride is over they provide you a wet towel to wipe your face and arms and they hose down your legs. This was much needed. There are also showers if you want to clean up more. We were a muddy mess and had to wash everything once we returned to the house, the car got pretty muddy also so we had to vacuum it the following day. We will absolutely be back for...
Read moreTour guides met us at the cruise terminal and led us out of the terminal then down a sidewalk a ways before we got to a small bus. While on the moving bus on bumpy roads, we were asked to fill out waivers. After about 30 minutes we arrived a Hacienda Campos. We walked up a hill to a restaurant where we were asked to wait. I had been worried about the 230lb weight limit as I was just under it before leaving, but I had also been on a cruise ship enjoying all sorts of wonderful food for 6 days at that point. I had no reason to worry, as unlike other zipline companies, this one did not weigh us. We sat in the restaurant and bar area for a while and it was suggested we purchase their small cans of bug spray for $13.50 if we did not have our own. I’m glad I didn’t, as the bugs did not bother me at all while we were there. After 30 minutes of just sitting, they finally took us to get harnesses. We later learned the delay was caused due to the staff determining 4 of the people who came on the tour were “too old” to participate and had to issue them refunds. Odd they waited until after we arrived to decide that, as the cruise line knows your age when you buy the tickets, and a representative from the company met us at the cruise port and let the people on the bus. The only option they had after getting a refund was to sit in the restaurant till the bus took everyone back to the ship. The ziplines were fun, you do have to do a fair amount of hiking between the locations, which is nice. They also have helmets with GoPro mounts screwed on to them, not just with adhesive. Anyone who brought backpacks had to bring them along on the ziplines. There were lockers in the restaurant area, but we were not told about them and did not see them till we were done. After the tour, we were told we had some time to eat and drink at the bar before the bus came, but they did not tell us how long. Several people ordered food, some got it but others were still waiting when we were told the bus was ready. Turned out the lady making food had gone off to walk her dog, so several people had to rush to eat as well as eat on the bus. The actual zipline part was fun, but the time management before and after was...
Read moreBuyer beware. I paid for our ATV ride weeks in advance. This purchase cleared my bank within 24 hours. We arrived at our tour date and time with the requested documents (valid driver's license and a visa or Mastercard for incidentals.) At check in we were told we had to present the original credit card which was not requested in the confirmation email. When I pointed this out to the young lady and she read it for herself; the email only requested a visa or Mastercard, not the original. She did not make their mistake right. This was in fact an error on the company's part. Not mine. I paid in advance for the service and I could've made sure I brought the original form of payment had I known. She (check in staff) told me to present the original payment or be refunded. This is completely unacceptable!! We had to pay for the tour again and wait to be refunded. This has caused us to spend EXTRA money that we were not prepared for. Causing a financial burden while on travel. Even more frustrating; we knew for a fact 3 other people did NOT present the original form of payment. Everyone's credit card information was placed on a sheet of paper that was visible for anyone to copy. I spoke with management to voice my concerns. I was told that because of the numerous amount of disputes the original payment had to be presented. So I questioned why not state that in your confirmation email, instead of deceiving customers that a credit cards are use for incidentals. I was told that someone would call me back. To date I have not received that phone or received an email. This is unprofessional and unacceptable. For this reason I am very disappointed. This was an easy fix and the company absolutely refused. Hacienda Campo Rico made it difficult.
For the most part we did enjoy the ride. No beautiful scenery to see on the 2 hour tour. A lot of dirt roads and we circled back to the same areas. The drinks at the...
