My experience was Rincon point. Stumbled onto this Beach, I have a spinal injury, and this isnt too hard to get down the hill to. But I cannot carry things. I was thankful that people have made bamboo shelters, have nice bbq s they have set up on this beach. We had this area pretty much to our own, and after 4 pm we actually did. I wish I had known there was a nearby place to stay over...to us, we just needed a place to set up a tent, and have a fire pit, because if this park has beach area, you need nothing else...we were happy to stay till dark right on The Rincon. Photo taking is nice, we saw seal, dolphins, and many fowl. If you want peace...our visit, though a big surf spot...was quite quiet, and romantic. Parking free, entrance free. take a kite, or book..and beverage. The Rincon is a state Beach, day use, so I think the park is just around the point, and I cant wait to...
Read moreRincon beach is one of the prettiest beaches in the Ventura / Santa Barbara area. Great place to walk (dog friendly) and the point is an iconic surf spot. Nice, wide walking beach at the foot of high bluffs, giving it a very secluded, quiet feel. Low tide is definitely the best time to visit. During the summer it's possible to walk from Rincon Point to Carpintería on the beach. From December 1st through March 31st a small section is closed to protect one of the largest seal rookeries on the west coast. To see the seals and their babies you can climb a short trail to a bluff top overlook. From there you can continue north along the bluff trail to Carpintería if you choose. Check the dates before you go. Checking out the seal rookery is a great alternative to Super Bowl Sunday. Rincon Beach is dog friendly but not very...
Read morenice beach the water is about 5ft deep for a good way out and its pretty sandy near the entrance. Occasionally there are some dolphins and a seal in the general area. towards the south its more rocky and theres tidepools. this is also where the "surfspot" is because the waves go parallel to shore in places down there and last for quite a bit but do be warned it is rocky over there and i am no surfer.
there's also a paragliding spot here with the cliff
some downsides: there are offshore tarpits so you will get some tar on your feet if you go into the water. if you walk north far enough, there are often times a few people who think its okay to go nude (though this is about 1/2 mile up the beach from the...
