Crystal clear water!! I hit the trail before the sun was up and ended up not taking the main trail down, somewhat difficult, definitely need your hiking shoes. The beach was beautiful, nice and sandy and big boulders sprinkled all about. Lots of wildlife, squirrels, birds, even saw a mink! Very peaceful, had the whole beach to myself until around 8:30am. The parking lot fills up fast, so it's best to be early. The main trail is very nice and well traveled, made for a nice and easy walk back to the lot. Definitely worth seeing!!!

Whale Beach is a nice beach to relax at on Lake Tahoe. The hike to the beach from the parking area is only about a half to 3/4 mile hike from the parking area on the main road. The beach is further from others to access so is less populated. The small cove area has quiet a few outstanding rocks which are a cool sight to see or swim to. Overall, a nice and slightly less pupilar beach on Lake Tahoe.

My pictures are from 2012 when I was here with a friend. It was a nude beach when I visited, not sure how that is now. Beautiful vistas, beautiful beach, beautiful clear blue water. And the rock formations do appear to be whales breaching. Just lovely❤️❤️❤️❤️

Cute little beach! There are some boulders in the water and some that lead from the shore into the water. They are fun to climb on. There is not a designated swim area, but it isn't crowded with boats. There are also a bunch of bounders to swim out to and partially submerged ones to rest on. It wasn't too busy a few weeks ago. Dogs are allowed! It had a bunch of winged carpenter ants a while ago, but they are mostly gone now. They didn't bite, but they were annoying and on everything. It is about a 2 mile easy hike to the beach from the parking lot which is small and...

You have to park on the highway and cross the street and walk down the side of the mountain for literally probably a mile and a half through twist and turns and it’s steep and sandy, tons of rocks and pointy bushes, it is not easy to carry anything down. Me and my partner tried to do it earlier and we just sort of gave up and chilled on the rocks. I do not recommend to anybody unless you’re trying to go on a hike. The walk up was 10 times harder,...
