Cedar Grove Park — Attraction in Cedar Grove

Fairly new Essex County run park. This park was formerly the site of part of the old Overbrook/Essex County Hospital Center. There are paved paths for walking/running along with some exercise equipment and a nice Gazebo. My only complaint would be that, not enough consideration was taken for storm water drainage/runoff. The park sits at the bottom of a large wooded hillside. After any significant rain or snow melting there can be large amounts of water that pool up and/or cross over the paths. In winter months this runoff freezes on the paths making them virtually unusable for would be park goers. All in all it is a nice park and a great addition for the Township residents and others...

This is a fun little playground in Cedar Grove, right next to the Hilltop development. It has a farm theme and it's great for kids 1-10 years old. There's also a nice walking / running park across the street with picnic tables and space for kids to run around. Finally, there's a nice community center with bocce courts that can be booked for events. Park is rarely too crowded, but there are usually kids present given the proximity to homes in Cedar Grove.
