Really wanted to go to Bryce Canyon today but didn't have enough time as it was already late afternoon. Google showed us this place was only 15 min from our Airbnb and the pics looked beautiful. Well it did not disappoint! The view was spectacular, they had option for easy and moderately difficult hikes. We took the harder one and WOW the view just keeps getting better the more the more you go! Highly recommend this underrated park. I did not feel sad about missing out on Bryce after this. TIP If you struggle with altitude (we are fit 28-30yr olds and we were panting.) We discovered a general store near Pizzanos Pizzeria that is only 10min away from the monument and sells $16 cans of supplemental oxygen. Super lightweight, size of a water bottle and have 200 breaths per can. Definitely helped us Floridians to hike 11,000...

Cedar Breaks National Monument is one of the best hidden gems in the world. I have been coming up there since 2014 and it never ceases to amaze me of it's extreme beauty and mystique.

Sunset is the BEST TIME to shoot!!

The differences in cloud formations, weather and shadows make it perfect for photography. The sunsets in are some of the best in the world. Phenomenal! The long draping shadows coupled with clouds that roll in along with the stunning red rock that becomes on fire during the sunset times make this an award winning combination for photos.

NOTE: For professional photographers, Cedar Breaks has a new commercial photography permit that must be purchased before taking any pro photos. Go to their website to see if you fits that category. There is a fee.

The rangers and everyone have always been extremely nice...

You can't find a more beautiful place in the lower 48. Unique geology and views forever, great hikes, AMAZING sunsets, nicely varied (mountains, forests, water (ponds)). Not expensive to enter. They have guided walks, astronomy nights with telescopes, occasional solar viewing. Grwat flowers in late June- 1st part of July, and some throughout the summer. Also important - many places to park, not crowded, and small enough that you can visit in a day or a few hours. Even simply driving on the main road and visiting just a couple of viewpoints...

I was fortunate enough to get an open road this time of year. It's a double edged sword, because that also means there hasn't been enough snowfall to close the road. Usually, from late october until may or June, this place is covered in snow- it is right at 10,000 feet in elevation. I love this national monument. Its gorgeous, no matter what time of year that you come. By the time this is posted, they should have more snow. Make the trip up. These pictures dont do this magnificent place justice.

We visited during the off-season, so there was plenty of parking. Which also means the restrooms and information centers were closed, and the walkways were covered in snow and ice. That aside, the views were STUNNING. It's like a miniature Bryce Canyon with the hoodoos and red/orange/pink colors. But what made it super special was it had recently snowed, so that added another aspect to the beauty. If you're anywhere nearby, it's definitely worth seeing!
