Beautiful hike, well worth doing. The altitude is high enough that you may feel short of breath and need to pace yourself. The hike to Spectra Point is downhill on the way there, and quite a climb to come back out. Bring water and give yourself plenty of time to enjoy the scenery. Plan to take periodic rests unless you are in spectacular shape or acclimated to physical exertion at high altitude. Also, beware of electrical storms in the afternoons during July and August, which can be very dangerous.

To this point and back is a 2 mile hike, really pretty overlook. I would usually go the whole 4 mile loop to the next overlook but due to time restraints I stopped here. Great view of the park, and a very nice gorgeous hike. Along this trail you will also see some Bristlecone Pine trees! pretty cool.

Amazing. Go early in the morning and you'll be the only one on the trail. Great for wildlife viewing early in the AM and the views are breath taking. Go in late July to see the wild flowers in bloom.
