It's a very wooded and shady trail. No outlook or anything, but once you get to the actual trail, it's all shaded. To find the actual trailhead, you walk the paved path down to the iron seating area (not the bigger one overlooking Joe Pool Lake) and the trail is behind it up a little embankment. The trail is easy, not completely flat though. You gain a little elevation, but it's not a steep climb. It took me a while to get through it due to soooo many spiders! I'm not scared of them, so I just used a long stick to clear the way and ducked under or around the ones that I was able to miss. Overall, it's a good trail.... not well maintained, but it's really pretty in there! Oh, watch out for tons of poison ivy at the top...

Complete with several different winding trails of just pure unaltered natural habitat. Trails hardness ranging from doable to OMG!!! Amazing views and wonderful folks walking running hiking as well. Even the dogs enjoy the sweating and the community of folks out there. Hiking on the this trail is one of the very ways I can see becoming addicted to exercise.
