I love this park. Lots of obstacles and different trails to roam on.
Pro Tip: if you have a park pass, avoid the highway park entrance on good-weather & holiday weekends from noon-4; just use the Cherry Creek Main Park Entrance. This will be in your favor any season except summer, when Holiday & good-weather weekends are really busy no matter what.
Our Malinois does very well here. We always see a huge variety of dogs and we both have even met new friends. Our dog can play rough, so she usually just runs around by herself. On occasion though, she finds a boxer friend or similar breed that will wrestle with her and play chase. They wear eachother out, and thank goodness! She's not interested in playing fetch, so it's really difficult to get her tired!
We go every week and at least once every weekend. She's always super excited to go and tired when we come home (only for a little while).
It's a great social outlet for her and it's been really good for her people-shyness. She still generally doesn't let other people touch her, but it happens. Lately, very gradually, she's letting strangers give her pets. Luckily, most people don't touch dogs they don't know, so it's usually not an...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreI have a catahoula dog that likes to run around and Chase stuff. It's a pretty big Park. Probably the closest big one to Denver that you can do off leash. Dogs can chase the critters and there's a 3 Mile loop you can walk around. It's flat and pretty open. There's water and a small Creek that goes inside the park on the north side. It's very flat and very open. There's an outer perimeter trail loop. It's probably a couple of miles around. There's a few structures the dog can climb like a tunnel and a ramp The dogs went free. The people are pretty friendly. We did see a coyote outside hunting. Some kind of critter so just be aware there's other animals there that aren't dogs. It looks to be two places to park North and the South side. The South one tends to be the most crowded. They have poop bags and garbage...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreFantastic fun for you & your pup! 1st you should know it is not cheap but so worth it! There are acres of fenced open areas that offer freedom to run! The winding creek has multiple easy access areas to play in the gentle flowing water deep enough for swimming or just enough for the smallest of fur babies! Everyone was super nice & respectful. Our pup met a new bestie every few minutes it seems as ppl walk along & in the creek. Plenty of shade & places to rest. Plenty of parking, water & park were clean. You have to purchase entrance to park & an additional fee for dog park area... Our pup loves the beach, but there's never shade to rest. This was heaven on...
