Understand first that with haunts like these, your mindset is everything. If you're going in thinking it isn't that scary and it isn't worth it, that's what you'll get out of it. I say this of all haunts, and of all places; an open mind is always an open door and an open experience.
That being said, we have three attractions (Plus one with Apex Laser Tag, but that's separate) that are composite to the experience.
First was the woods. My wife and I picked this as our starting point, and that turned out to be very favorable in setting the mood for the other two haunts. As previous haunted house actors, a lot of our expectations were admittedly biased and high strung. Bless these actors though as they were well placed and well trained. I won't spoil the pathing, but huge shout-out to the carousel and our friend Giggles for a first look at the tone of the attraction, and also her own area. Leading up to this were other undead characters that certainly had their high points, but most eye-catching was the overall placement. On my second run through the haunt I had the pleasure of thoroughly examining a few characters and their designated areas. The well and the lady before it was a well-placed and well-played fixture. The plague doctor's charisma was equally sinister and playful. Even the woods themselves had an aura about it. A great entrance to a three part play.
The next attraction was the maze. Now, I was never fond of mazes really, as it's mostly pathing and trial and error. This one did it right, and made it fun, too. The dense fog added not just a disorienting factor, but a sensory deprivation factor too. You can see only what's immediately in front of you. As it works against the actors also, it fails to scare, per se. But the value isn't in the scare factor, rather in the entertainment and atmosphere. You know you're probably getting lost. That's the point. But add in the cluelessness and almost comical amount of bumping into each other and you're in for a laugh and a half. Easy giggles, pun intended.
Last was the house itself. The start was a bit rough in my opinion, as I didn't encounter anyone until it was in pitch darkness. The house was disorienting, probably intentional, and had elements of the pathing in the maze to get to the next part of the house. I liked that. A lot. What I didn't care for though was the spaces of non-interaction. I felt it was a missed opportunity, but also something I can understand too with a possibility of short staffing. We all do what we can, it's how it is. Shout-out to the dark room and the doctor rooms, that was a good roll. The house felt the shortest of all the attractions but still had much merit.
Overall, I'm very pleased with my time today. A show I will certainly remember. And perhaps, who knows. Maybe a certain Warthog may come running to add to the factor. Until then, this house made three was a thrill, and worth the five stars. Keep an open mind; you may be surprised...
Read moreIt was fun but honestly, I expected alot more. Voted #1 haunted attraction, not sure why. There were alot of interesting cool areas to be seen. $20 to go thru the 3 attractions as many times as you want. Sounded awesome. However, we got thru each attraction 1 time because the lines were so long for newcomers and by the time we were done it was close to closing time. Pandemonium was just a fog maze in a tent. Very cool and unique compared to your average corn maze. And the actors that were in there looked like they were being more social with each other then acting. The Haunted house was very cool however was hard to figure the exact way to get thru each room because the employee areas were very visible. Very few actors and actors in this area were pretty decent. Frightmare forest was our last attraction. was funny and not really creepy except the guy who kept saying,"oh just wait til you meet momma." However, we still dont know who momma is. Lol Actors were coming out of character, it was near closing time and we felt like we were being rushed not to mention continuously next to the group's in front and behind us. The little bonfires to warm up, the decoration in each attraction, area (especially the creepy area it the whole event was located on was cool), the concession stand and coffin ride were pretty cool. However, the actors were ok, could of put alot more effort into staying in character and their costumes. All in all it was a good time with family but for the price and compared to other haunts (including some of these when they were single attractions)we've been to it...
Read moreThis was absolutely abhorrent. The only good thing that came out of this was my friend arguing with one of the actors in the house itself. Otherwise, the entire experience consisted of a mish-mash of terrible haunted house clichés that range from the mundane jump scares to the uninspired "want to play" lines to the outright laughable performances given by the actors that just sit there and stare at you that then smack something when you walk by. Not to mention, a sizeable portion of the customers were smoking and vaping in the absurdly long lines. Speaking of the dreck worthy lines, for some idiotic reason, people going through a second time get to go ahead of the people going through the first time. I got in with a free ticket and I wanted my money back. I would not pay $20, I wouldn't even pay $10. The only thing this should cost you is your time and gas money. Otherwise,...
