What a wonderful museum. Went on a weekend trip and checked out this Museum and what a wonderful surprise. We didn't check out any reviews or anything on this little gem, we just decided to visit. Outside we were like, okay it is someone's house Hahaha. We walked in and was greeted by a wonderful lady who gave us a run down of where things and exhibits going on. How fantastic that everything was set up by rooms/little areas to make it put you in that time era. We thought this would be a quick 15/20 min visit, we stayed there over an hour looking and reading at all the wonderful things. Alot of the items are not behind glass so you can really get up close to it and see all the details of it. We enjoyed so much of it. I would post more pictures, but you really need to come and see it for yourself. :) It is worth it to stop in.

Really a lot of information and artifacts for a small town museum. We came for the sliced bread day demonstration, which was really neat and well done, and stayed to look around at all the information. It has a lot of local history displayed which was really unique, but it also displayed them in really classy and professionally done displays. It holds a lot of “small town” and yesteryear slices of life that bring back memories of how things used to be. Very interesting for adults as well as unique and interesting displays for kids. We will be back next time we come through!

Late on a Saturday, someone let us in to peruse and browse. I love small town museums, and this one really delivered! I appreciated the hospitality and deference that we were shown. Had a great visit and even got some paper dolls and recipes. It is, afterall, the home of sliced bread. I was disappointed that for all the wonderful and thought provoking exhibits, they didn't include anything regarding the fact that the building was once a "home for girls." We all know what that mean. There were a lot of military uniforms and placards, but those girls must have had stories of their own. Regardless, it was a great visit and we were graciously given a visit on an off day. Well worth it! No fee, but...
