I adopted my kitten, Kevin (Max), in early October from the Chino Hills location. He quickly developed an eye infection. And then he started having these strange sneezing fits where he would be sneezing non stop for at least 10 seconds at a time. I took him to the vet and after the vet heard crackling in his lungs, she decided to test for feline leukemia- something Priceless Pets never did. His test came back positive, as did the confirmatory test we sent out for. My boyfriend and I were devastated and scared because we have another cat that might have been infected. Thankfully our other cat tested negative but they would now no longer be able to live openly together.
He developed anemia because of the leukemia. His red blood cells had dropped 10% in just two weeks and he would very likely not make it to a year old. Unfortunately, he only made it to the following week. Yesterday, 12/8/2021, we had to make the difficult decision to put Kevin’s needs above our own and put him to sleep. He couldn’t eat, he had liver failure, and overall was in pain. He was only 6 months old. My boyfriend and I are so incredibly heartbroken over this. We loved Kevin and will miss him forever.
When I originally spoke with PPR to tell him Kevin MIGHT have FELV, the woman offered a bunch of meaningless condolences. She was obviously trying to placate me. When I asked why they don’t test at their facilities, she said that the tests cost $25 and they just can’t justify that cost. But with four locations and a vet clinic, it’s hard to imagine that they’re struggling for money. At the very least, I feel as though they have a moral obligation to disclose the fact that they don’t test for this. ESPECIALLY because at the Chino Hills location, the cats are in a small room together sharing the same litter box and water bowls. When I informed them that Kevin did in fact test positive over email, I received an email that to me, proves they don’t really care. It was a hurtful and sarcastic response, shifting the blame onto me (like other reviews have stated).
The woman I spoke with said they would add the fact that they don’t test to their paperwork. I don’t trust them. They said that they would reach out to all the adopters who adopted cats around the time Kevin was there. I don’t trust them. Please, if your cat was there in early October, go get them tested. I would hate to think that another family is as heartbroken as we are because of Priceless Pets carelessness.
Judging by the numerous other 1 star reviews talking about PPR adopting out sick animals, this will continue to happen. They...
Read moreI want to start off by saying that I love my puppy that I adopted from Priceless Pets. That's where the positivity of this review ends...
We were told by the staff that the litter of puppy's mother had anaplasma and ehrlichia. A disease that if not treated can result in severe, fatal, systemic symptoms such as organ failure. We were assured by the staff that the puppies tested negative for the disease. They gave us antibiotics to give to our puppy prophylactically just in case. We took him home gave him his antibiotics and carried on.
A few weeks later we went to the Priceless Pet Vet clinic to have follow up appointment and refill his antibiotics. The staff at this location informed us that our puppy DID test positive for the disease. They mentioned that the staff at the adoption location made a mistake and were coached and corrected. We never received a call from them. I just hope they did the right thing and called the other adopters who adopted these puppies under the pretense that their puppies are negative for this disease. What made it worse was one of the staff members attempted to shift the blame on my wife and I stating that during the adoption process "many adopter's don't understand what's going on because it's a lot of information and they're so excited about their puppy". The audacity to say something like that when WE were given MISinformation.
So now, we are taking time off of work to drive 1 hour away to refill his antibiotics and have follow up appointments every few weeks. We will have to have a full blood test to make sure his organs are not affected by this disease and this will come out of our pocket.
Like I mentioned in the beginning. We love our puppy and will continue to do everything we can to make sure he is healthy. But the financial, time, and emotional burden was not something that we signed up for. We adopted our puppy contingent upon the fact that he was disease free. Whether or not this screw up on the part of the adopters was willfully done or sheer incompetence I will never know.
In summary, if you are looking for a pet;...

I adopted a beautiful female dog on 12/31/20. The initial experience was pleasant and efficient. What I thought was a bit odd was the lady told me if something happened and we could not keep her; we had to bring her back to them. I remember thinking well, it is my dog and I paid you. However, I kept it in mind because she was nice and efficient.
Fast forward a few days later, I try to take Abby for a walk and she growls and the hair on her back sticks up. I told my Wife we may need to give her back. My Wife broke down because she had really fallen in love with her. I explained we will try hard to make this work but if she snaps at out kids she is gone PERIOD!
Three days ago that happened, she randomly snapped at my Daughters arm. My Wife and I agreed she has to go. We took her back the Priceless Pets like they asked and they agreed to take her back for a $250 FEE! This was never explained to us nor do we remember seeing this on the contract. This comes off like they are interested in extra money rather than helping animals. We explained this to the woman who we were talking to and she stated; the woman who helped us out initially didn't know what she was doing. She also stated that she was the new Manager and had to come in to straighten the store out, she stated something to that effect. Now I have no problem with that but they should waive the fee. I legally did not need to bring my dog back to them. However they did give me the opportunity to have this dog and I wanted to be amicable with them.
Needless to say a fee not stated in the beginning is super tacky and I am never going to recommend this place to anyone, nor will...
