Nice park close to Chino, went to a dog competition in one part with lots of room for dogs and people to relax and picnic. The roads are not great so take care driving in some areas, the $15 entry fee should pay for better upkeep, so I hope they repair the roads. There are toilets around the areas and it’s close to I-15 so easy to get to.

Dog Recreation Area. Activities done here include but are not limited to, training hunting dogs, lure coursing, Clubs and associations will rent areas for activities. Find the clubs to join and participate. Southern California Lure Coursing is one such club. The dogs love it.

Staying mid week helps it to be not as crowded, but the downside is they had construction all throughout the days, and water and electricity were off for 4 hours Nice to have a good campground so close to home, and a large enough parking area for 2 vehicles

Prado is my Sanctuary. You can find me out there with my best friends almost every weekend. The only problem is that I wish I could go more, but I guess I need to work too. This place is thought to be a dog park, but it is so much more. This place is the best you can find in socal if you're looking to train your hunting dogs, field trial dogs, hunt test dogs, pointers, and all the above. There are numerous ponds to train on, and the water levels will vary throughout the days, weeks, months, etc. The park is part of the Prado flood basin, so depending on the rainfall, many areas will be flooded out during the winter and early spring months. Pay attention to the rules and your surroundings. Pay up top at the stop sign by the clubhouse, ponds and fields are first come, first serve. Some people out there are friendly if you're nice and approach them with respect and interest. Most will let you get a dog out in their field or pond if you're respectful, ask, and are patient while they are working with their dog. It does get very territorial out there so never walk into a field that you could possibly even question someone is using. People train on large areas so you may be walking into something that you are unaware of. Also there is live shotgun fire (bird shot of course) so be aware of your surroundings. If you've never been, make sure to ask questions to the people at the gate and ask questions to people in the park. Also don't set up shop on somebody! Entry is $15 and includes spouse and 2 dogs. Extra dogs are extra $. It's $20 for me...

Very disappointed. We have been here many times and never had an issue with any of the people out training their dogs. Usually everyone is respectful even if its crowded. Not the case today. We went to train our dog and we asked the lady is it crowded she shrugged her shoulders. Well we found a pond after passing a huge tournament and 2 ponds cover with green algae. We were only there a few mintues but it was apparent the trainer lady next to us was not happy we stopped there. We packed up and decided to try to front pond. We pulled into a big area and another trainer lady started yelling at us saying we were in her dogs path line. At this point we were like lets go get our 15 dollars back and try another day. We spoke to the lady at that front and were telling her how rude these trainers are. Also let her know about the green ponds. She said no refunds. I asked if there was someone else i could talk to she said i am the owner. Asked her why she did not say it was crowed when we asked her and the ponds are green etc. She said fine you can have your money but she banned us from ever coming back. We did nothing wrong but voice our opinion. Has she ever heard of customer service. She lost more than 15.00. She lost all of our money. And anyone else i tell. Bad...

Positive bits - my dog loved running the fields with varied terrain (tall grass, plowed fields, reeds and swimming).

Fast facts - 2018 charging $15 entry fee, 3 dog limit, cash only, no refunds. Fields are first come, first use.

One series of ponds has clear water, other handful are covered in duck weed and/or pond algae.

Unsolicited suggestions - Would be helpful and appreciated if Proprietors would provide better information for guests, such as numbering fields, letting guests know how many are in the park and which fields are available. Also caution folks which fields are thick with thistles, cockleburs, and / or other concerns, especially when asked for same said info when paying the entry fee.

I went twice to train and exercise my dog. After the first time I left with my medium coat dog (pudelpointer) covered with cockleburs (removal tip: wet dog, apply hair conditioner liberally to help coax burs out of coat - 3" long coat with soft fur undercoat = 2 hr removal process). Lesson learned as to what fields and ponds to avoid.

Unfortunately, both times my dog drank a some of the pond water and within about 5 minutes experienced diarrhea. We are not from the area - perhaps other dogs are used to the...
