Had our wedding there awhile back. Beautiful venue. However the grounds guy was insanely rude to all the children they were outside playing tag in the grass and he approached them and yelled. They weren't doing anything but literally running in a grass patch 50 feet from where we were standing. Needless to say after being approached by crying children several parents wanted to put hands on him. Also my little sister was getting into a golf cart to go home later in the night. After putting her kids into the golf cart she was getting in with her long dress and the employee driving the cart started accelerating dispite being told not everyone is in yet and ended up rolling her across the ground. When she told him she got hurt and he needs to pay better attention. His response "My mom's the head of HR so I'm not really worried about it" she wasn't drunk and it was not fault of her own. The kid didn't apologize and didn't care what so ever. I called The HR lady (his mom) she didn't answer or call back for days. When i finally spoke to her she was pretty unbothered by the actions of her son even though he literally rolled someone across the ground and hurt them. After we finished eating and they took the food away I assumed we got it back due to us paying for it. Later in the night people wanted food again I ask the girl whose running the wedding and she said they threw it away. I wasn't told any of this. When I conveyed my frustration with this because they never told me that's their policy. After the wedding was over I realized I forgot my wallet in the changing room so I ran back to the venue and when I got into the venue I seen all the workers had to go boxes with my food. I wouldn't care if they wanted to take some home but I was lied to and that's ridiculous. When I was talking about this with another person couple months later he had the same experience. They take your food simply so they can have it. It's total bullshit. The blonde girl who now runs the weddings at the venue is completely useless. Without her and the grounds keeper and their stupidity and rudeness everything would of been perfect. Thanks for making the day drama filled and complicated. The wedding coordinator is completely useless. 0 out of 10. Hopefully you you go into another field and stop ruining...
Read moreI was recently in attendance for what was called “Bands brews and barbecues”. The event it self was fine, all though it felt very put together last minute and the music just wasn’t enjoyable. What i was there for most was the food and i left feeling a little disappointed. I ordered a brisket sandwich with a side of waffles fries and a side of mac and cheese. First off the mac and cheese was absolutely horrible. The brisket sandwich was enjoyable but i felt like the meat was frozen and after a conversation with a worker there i found out it was and was severely dissatisfied. The waffle fries were mediocre and for the already ridiculous price, was barely even enough to justify the extra cost. The presentation of the food itself was okay but the paper food holder it came in was a generic red and white fair food style boat which wasnt surprising but was contrasted by a brown paper that was lining the bowl. It didnt have the class you would expect from a place like this. My main complaint is the prices. Everything is overpriced. $8 for three chicken tenders that was tiny and a few waffles fries is outrageous. Let alone the rest of the menu which was even worse. After having attended a few events at the Minnesota discovery center over the past 5 months. I can say i have been dissatisfied with the food i have eaten from here. I wish this place would step up their game and offer better quality food for a reasonable price. Their vending machine food however, has been very enjoyable. I have very tried both the chicken caesar and wild rice salads. Both of which were amazing. The ham and swiss and turkey and cheddar croissants have also been enjoyable. the Roast beef is god awful however. I am not a picky person and can easily eat whatever is in front of me if im hungry but the Roast beef meat on that sandwich was gross and tasted metallic and slimy. I would not recommend it. The rest of the offerings are simple little snacks which is appreciated at a place like this. However, once again i wish to say that the prices are way too high for the quality and quantity they are serving. I cannot currently recommend a trip to the Minnesota Discovery Center if you are looking to try the...
Read moreFormer longtime resident of Chisholm and former employee. The Discovery Center is both fun for the family if you have a few hours and has some of the best sights you’ll ever see in your time on the range. What museums do you know that have a working cable car ride? The area is rich in culture but doesn’t show it off as much as it should, but by some miracle we have the Discovery Center to do that for us! The staff is also some of the nicest people I’ve ever had the pleasure of working with. After a while, it felt like I was in this family. They work hard and it’s really paying off, as they get new exhibits and shows all the time, as well as hosting all sorts of events. Every day is something new at the Discovery Center, that’s what...
