Wildwood Sanitarium is one of our teams favorite locations, and we've been there three times!
The owners are always very accommodating and nice to work with, and the location itself has never let us down as far as getting activity!
The building itself is very well maintained, and the owners are constantly improving and doing renovations to help preserve this piece of history!
I've seen some comments posted by "guides" that obviously never have stepped foot into the building, or seem to know much about the paranormal community as far as pricing goes.
The "trash" they see on the porch, are most likely something to do with renovations, as every time we've been there, the place has been extremely clean!
And the comments I've seen as being "pricey" or "overpriced" obviously have no idea just how cheap this place is to actually rent for an investigation!
The price is literally anywhere from 1/2, 1/3 to even 1/4 of what other paranormal locations are charging! The owners also let you stay a LOT longer at this location for the price you pay! I'd say the average time and price you'd spend at other paranormal locations in the area (NY and PA at least) is about 100 per hour, and sometimes this doesn't even include the option to stay the night, so you have to figure out the price of a hotel as well if you a traveling quite the distance.
You get this location, the activity, and a place to sleep for $300 a night is an absolute steal!
If you looking for a big, active, and clean place to stay (they also have a bathroom and shower, and power, where some places don't even offer that) I would HIGHLY recommend Wildwood Sanitarium!
Our team can't...
Read moreTook a ride with my niece to check out The Wildwood Sanitarium and have dinner afterwards. It's a year round place where some very popular "ghost hunters" have been who've signed their names on the walls there! It's located in the middle of a normal neighborhood, which felt very strange! The owners are doing a lot of work on repairs such as a new roof etc. There is a lot of history that our guide Zach, explained to us, very interesting indeed! There have been reports of spirit/hauntings there and I must admit in 1 room I felt uncomfortable pressure in my chest. There was also a pendulum over sand which was barely moving, as I was mostly watching it while we talked, the line in the sand went further than the pendulum was moving, I mentioned this out loud and my niece said she too noticed but neither of us wanted to say anything. Zach showed us pictures on his phone of elaborate swirls in the sand which happened without any one around in a few moments while he was there working. So weird! He also told us a group of people were coming at 7pm to stay overnight in the house! Very brave!! I recommend checking it out! It's a few minutes from Ellicottville, totally...
Read moreThere are definitely spirits here but we were booked from 7pm till 11am and no one showed up till 8pm to let us in. Ok so all good on them giving a cheaper rate. The filthy condition of the place was horrible! I didn't mind the pealing ceiling torn up floors or even broken windows. But there was No heat and it was freezing cold in there due to them saying a possible gas leak so the heats not on. Ok we get that but why put people in a possible dangerous situation if there is a possibility of gas leaking? There were spider webs everywhere you looked, the bathroom was disgustingly dirty with thick dust and webs everywhere. Come on you could at least try making it cleaner while fixing the place up and having people stay overnight there! The owners(the mom and son in law) were extremely friendly and that did help the situation but in all this place needs to be taken better care of if you are having people sleep over. The beds and bedding also gross even though supposedly clean. But whatever, we have been in worse haunted places that were actually cleaner especially in...
