First impression: wow! I had no idea what to expect of Glenview Mansion. I believe it had been closed to the public for some time, and I was excited to see that tours were finally happening.

The inside of the mansion is actually a lot larger than I had anticipated. Upon entering the mansion, you feel like you're in the 1800s with the colorful tiles on the floor, and knick knacks all over the place. What caught my attention were the high ceilings - they were epic and something I did not expect. Our guide was a Hudson River Museum staff member. He did a wonderful job relaying the history of the mansion, and knew a lot about many of the objects in the room. Whether it was the Tiffany and Co. grandfather clock, a Victorian recliner chair, or the storybook tiles over the fireplace in the great hallway, the space felt like it was very intentionally decorated and done.

As a fan of The Gilded Age HBO Max show, I also enjoyed knowing that I was standing in Mrs. Astor's home.

The only reason I am giving this experience 4 stars is because the tour felt slightly rushed/fast paced, and one of the rooms, the Billiards Room, was not open to the public at the time that I visited. I would have liked more time in each room to be more present and take photos, but other than that I would recommend history lovers to...

This Gilded Age Mansion was an enjoyable afternoon trip. Our tour guide was warm and funny as she told us about the Trevor family and the happy family home they built on the Hudson River. As a fan of the show the Gilded Age (HBO), it was great to see the shooting location for Mrs. Astor's home. The tour doesn't take too long because it is only the first floor, but the house is part of the Hudson River Museum and that adds a lot of extra value to your ticket price. They have art by Warhol and Georgia O'Keffe and many other brilliant works of art. There's also a wonderful dollhouse that is intricate and beautifully displayed. The museum has a planetarium as well, but I didn't get to see a show yet. I will definitely come back for...

I needed to bring my child here for a school research project. The representative at the front was very friendly and helpful. He was awesome. Even the security was helpful with sharing scavenger hunt information about some of the installations. I had a great time and the time...
